Demon Guide

I have read and researched a lot about the Demons and Princes of Hell however I am wondering what a good method is to discover my demon protector. I have read about using a pendulum however I didn't know if this was the best method. I am new to spiritual satanism and have read a lot about which demons are good to guide and help those who are new to satanism, however, any thoughts or answers would be appreciated. I have been feeling a lot of energy around me lately and it would be nice to know who to thank for this protection and power.
