The candle is not to illuminate the place but to burn the dedication prayer.

Is it more powerful or anything of factor if I do it at night. My parents are gone in the day time and I would like this to be done at night but I can't. I just wish I could be more than I really am. And I feel like father will give me the strength not through fear but magic and wisdom

It is no different between day and night. If you have the chance to do it during the day, then do it then.

If its that yer having trouble finding one of the 3 colors and you can only find one of the 3 colors then use which ever of the 3 you can find as that is fine.
Also if you need to do this away from home then do it away from home I say as some here are in or have been in situations where they cannot do so at home.
Do it whatever time of day works best for you.
I personally like night for some things meditation especially as I enjoy the darkness.
But if night time for whatever reason doesn't work for you then it's okay to do it during the daylight hours.
