the other day i was watching the TV serie Supernatural and i noticed different simbols just for holding demons or blow away angels is any of this true? i also noticed that salt can stop a demon but it is to simple that just with salt it can be stopped if this is true then how can a demon defend himself?
its just that i cant stop asking me if this could be true

Look at the basis of the show: Two people go around blowing up "evil demons" and all that crap, depending on material objects to defend themselves, blah blah blah. Sounds like a regular sci-fi show to me, meant for entertainment to a few different groups(In this case Christians and action-junkies) so theres no reason to think its any more real than the Christian bible.
