In Initation into the Hermetics, i read that if your physical body is
disturbed while you are projected, your physical body will die. I
have never heard of anyone dying of astral projection, although if
they are dead, they would have no way to report that it was astral
projection that killed them. There are a few things that seem to
contradict this. first is dreams. I was under the impression that
when you dream, your astral body floats above your physical body as it
is projected into an astral pool, but people get startled awake all
the time with out dying. second is near death experiances. There
have been many reports of people who have had near death experiances
who say that they were floating outside of their body during the
experiance (due to forced astral projection), but they survived even
their bodies were surely being handled, (that's what makes them near
death, lol). Any insights on the matter?

I astral and remote view and never have experienced any thing negative...in terms of death however mind you, I always ask my guardian to guard my physical body and always when astral projecting or obe and what not visualize a cord connecting astral body and physical body. So I disagree with a possiblility of death thus far. I have also had near death experiences, and did see body and knew what was going on and saw things I could not have seen with physical body, yet am here and in very very way back when years did also experiment with certain things that bring on out of body experiences and again nothing negative. So that be it on my personal experience side. Which is the only one I can go by.

So i guess that the morle of the story is to be cautious when astral
projecting, but its nothing big enough to scare you out of trying it.

On occasions have snoozed off to find myself hovering above body
observing room... and then have been abruptly awakened by activities
around me [in same room] or by individual making contact with body. No
death. There is probably some instance where death is possible though.
