Since I have been a child, I had an allergy that caused my hands to itch so much, I scratched the skin on my hands off. Soe years ago my brother and I were tested for allergies and it turned out I'm allergic to cats and house dust (I have a cat but I clean my room regularly) Combine this with the fact I have atopic dermatitis (my skin is very dry and once my friend commented my hands look like his grandma's) and you have a socal outcasts... Well in last years my skin doesn't itch so much but when it does it's a nightmare. I have pills for it but the last time I took one, I was attacked for more than an hour (a freaking vampite with the dirtiest aura I've seen around here).
Do you guys know what should I do to stop the itching?
Btw an unrelated question: how can I stop/prevent a headache without sleeping off an entire day?

Well since no one replied, for starters, what do you eat? what is your diet like?

Do you treat the dry skin with anything?

The other thing I would ask is how is ur breathing since that can give u a headache along with ur water intake, but that's also diet.In turns of itching I prob say some kind of lotion and make sure ur room is aired out regularly even if u use ac it's not 100% and prob don't have ur cat sleep with u in the bed, for now.Can u take another pills for sounds like it makes u weak by taking them.Since vaccine and allergy are linked it will get better as u advance.Hail father SatanHail mother LilithHail all the  Deitie gods/goddess

Well I'm a bit overweight so I try to eat less & I avoid as much seeets as possible (chocolate addict on rehabilitation xP). My family lives on the country side so the food is mostly home made & healthy... I only drink water...
For dry skin I have some cremes but I don't like using them because it's hard ti hold a pencil afterward :/

The headache can be caused by several things. You didn't quite go into detail with your diet, but its good that you cut out the sugar. That certainly will help the ability of your body to deal with the allergy.

Now another thing, when the itching comes up, do you have a certain situation that happened before or after? Is it linked to any recurring event?

It was mentioned to me that sometimes people have cravings for certain foods, and if it was chocolate it was linked to not having enough magnesium in your body. I don't know if its true but it might be something to look up on.

Truthenki1 my breathing is normal & I always make sure to drink enough water (min 1l).
I air my room almost every evening and my cat decided to come inside the house only to eat & be a jerk.

Johnson_akemi I meditate twice a day and do yoga every morning. I'll try doing the vibrations ^^ thanks

Taol, I'll look up for that - my mom has a stack of water with magnesium (it tastes nasty :s)

Normally it comes up because of allergens (like if I hold my cat/he takes a nap om my bed...) but I can wash it off. It's worse during the summer (my family has to out away the hay & there's a lot of cleaning (read: dust)) Sometimes it starts after I'm on strong sun for too long (normal people get tan or a headache, I get itching...)

lisa have you tried drinking nettle tea for a while? It removes some toxins from the body, as well as some of the things that are involved in some allergies. Aside to that it contains some minerals.

There is probably more that I'd have to ask if one were to give a complete diagnose but to give an idea. There are herbs have an anti allergic working.

@truthenki1:

Hereby my comment on the list. I hope it answers your question.

1) Avoid dairy.  According to TCM, dairy is an irritant to the immune system.  Even if you don’t notice sensitivity to dairy, reducing or eliminating it may relieve your symptoms.

I don't know where this ("irritant") comes from but it is told to avoid diary when your lymfe system (which is a part of the immune system) is working hard or even exhausted, since it is like an extra burden in that case.

2) sounds logic.

3)Avoid multiple allergens at once.  One theory, called the “Total Load Theory,” states that while exposure to one allergen may not be enough to trigger your symptoms, exposure to several allergens at the same time may.  It’s as if your “allergy bucket” has to be overflowing before your symptoms start.  For example if you’re allergic to cats and grass pollen, stay away from cats while the grasses are blooming.  During other times of the year, you can play with kitty.

The reason that you sometimes might want to avoid multiple allergens is because some allergens look a lot like others. If you react to one and in the meantime you are frequently exposed to something else that looks alike you might as well get allergic to that as well.

4) Use a neti pot.  The neti pot is a great way to rinse your sinus cavities, clear mucous and reduce swelling so you can breathe easier.  Follow the directions with the pot.  Be sure to use distilled water instead of tap to avoid introducing bacteria into your sinuses.

About bacteria. For the water system where I live if you heat the water through the pipes up to 65 C it is said to be hot enough to kill enough harmful bacteria. Besides that the nose is a part of the immune system in that the mucus is supposed to catch invaders so that those can be dealt with.
Now I have no idea what a neti pot is and what it exactly does.
However I do know that having an infection in your sinuses is unpleasant and there are cases in which it is a problem because the fluids can't drain properly or something.

5) Breathe peppermint.  Inhaling the scent of a drop of peppermint essential oil can reduce congestion and improve your breathing.  Put a drop of the oil in your palm and rub your hands together.  Cup your hands over your nose and inhale.

Peppermint (menthe x piperita) is known to help in the digestive system. This claim is very likely to work. Although I doubt rubbing essential oils on your hands like that is a good practice.

Good replys, thanks. New info with it. The tea (neti?) pot is a little pot that u use water that pour in ur nose and it goes thru ur nasal canal and cons out thru the other side. Can find alot on youtube. And helps clean the inside if u can't blow it all out.

Thank you so much!! I think that the 'multiple different allergens at once' thing is the main problem here.

@Johnson - yes I think it is shady as well. The things need more in dept information. But also what I saw happening in another group (whom I am not in anymore) was that 'herb' knowledge usually didn't extend much further than the claims you can find on a description of a herbal medicine thing.

So compared to that I am glad that we at least try to do our best to do it right.
