The same reason why Chinese communists like to hijack Daoist, Buddhist and other Chinese Pagan symbols so anytime a conservative sees anything related to Chinese culture their minds immedietly scream COMMUNISM. The Maoists knew they could never fully eradicate Chinese spirituality so they hijacked it instead, and same with the Soviets and Russian culture and etc., it's all about hijacking from within.
