All about the Immune System and how to Improve it

It would be a stretch for his emotions alone to cause the fever, especially if you describe previous symptoms of low vitality.

This has to go beyond just a few dietary modifications, where you need to look at what sort of activity he is getting. As long as he isn't eating any major bad things, then this is good enough.

Fruit is not that great, given its history with genetic modification. In other words, he could be eating too many cooling foods. A sweet, yet non-cooling substitute would be cooked carrots or sweet potato. These both aid the spleen and his overall energy, whereas too many fruits would sap spleen energy.

It is a little difficult for me to give lots of advice without knowing the situation perfectly. Bringing him to a TCM doctor would be the quickest way to resolve this, in addition to helping him adopt better lifestyle habits.

Thank you to Brightspace for their insights, contributions, and support. :)

hi Blitzkreig, I am looking for some books to start off learning about TCM, I wonder if you have any suggestions?

thanks for all your knowledge and advice

a caution about TCM. doubt check that you are getting the right herbs- China itself is having this issue due to some shady people so go thru organizations that take pride in giving their customers the best quality and correct herb. Plus make sure to stick with using actual herbs....some parts of TCM still call upon animal parts to be used which doesn't work and fuels the black market. I don't say this to be against any members here only as a precaution on the advice of those outside of this forum. There are several on this forum whom seem to have good in-depth knowledge on TCM and I have yet seen them give any harmful advice but of course that won't hold true outside of here nor in any book you pick up. So please read any text with extra caution and double check what kind of herbs are being suggested.
I say that due to the changing times and understanding of herbs and how they interact with the body.
Other than that I wish you good luck on learning more.

There's is a number of herbs which are often given as substitutes for others.

If one is using raw herbs, it is essential that one become proficient in identifying the smell, taste, look and feel of the medicinals that one uses. To fail to do so, may see a number of plants from the Aristochliae family being substituted for other plants which are not nephrotoxic like Aristochlic varieties.

This is just one of the many pitfalls and differences between a master and a fool in regard to herbalism.
