Ok thank you for the advice. I do like the idea of workings to bring like minded people to me, that will be my substitute. I will forget about the meetup groups. It always seemed like a good idea until I seriously considered it and then I started to doubt it. Probably a good thing. 

Be patient and continue to read posts from everyone on here. Eventually you will know and it will just come to you. Read thought the whole site and you will find where beginners are supposed to start. Everyone has a different path, however none of them include desperation.
