My spiritual journey has been going OK, ups and downs. I have been meditating twice per day, I think in the past several weeks I only missed 1 session (due to being extremely tired and falling asleep). This is a level of consistency I've never maintained before. And I've been staying sober.

Things are still really hard and many times I've contemplated going back to drugs and just living on the streets. I don't want to get a job and live in normie society, as people have never liked me much and I feel unwanted wherever I am. My life is still really messed up and I have a lot of serious problems, mental and otherwise. I'm really trying to keep it together, though, for 2 reasons: I still love my immediate family and don't want to hurt them more, and my duty/sense of purpose as a Zevist. I still struggle with the last one, though. Some days I question if I have a vocation on this path or not. But I am going to try. My gratitude as always to those who maintain and protect the Temple.

I feel like I've advanced more spiritually in the last month then in the 2 years preceding it. For years I had plenty of alone time, but I kept putting off meditation while waiting for the "perfect" time, which of course never came. Living in a group home isn't ideal, there are plenty of people who seem to always be making noise, lol. But since resuming my program weeks ago, I haven't missed a single session. I no longer wait for the time that feels perfect, I make use of the time and space I currently have. Where there's a will, there's a way.

I continue to stay sober and work on the underlying issues related to addiction. It's certainly hard, as my brain is still recovering. But I am very grateful to have been given a second chance, and this beautiful community has been very helpful. I still worry sometimes about how to fix my life, I'm not sure what I should do career wise. But I know I love the Gods and Goddesses, and I love our amazing Temple. I am in a much better place then I was a few months ago, when I was still in active addiction and burying my true feelings in drugs. Thank you to all who help maintain and build up this wonderful Place.

Overcoming addiction is incredibly difficult. There will be plenty of bumps in the road, you would know that better than anyone, but it's important to remember that every day clean is a victory in and of itself, and no one day is like another. Many who undertake never manage to last as long as you have already, and that shows real strength of character.

Never forget that people here will listen to your problems so long as you're willing to speak about them. The only other thing I can say is, it's only natural you will have concerns about your future, but for the time being, you can really only do yourself favors by focusing on the now. Pursue hobbies, spend time with people who have your best interests in mind, find all the reasons you can to recover, beyond the merit of the act itself. The Temple will still be here tomorrow, and you can be a part of it if you wish it to be.

Good luck on the road ahead, brother.

Your resolve and continued overcoming is most admirable, be proud of yourself for this accomplishment brother! My advice, other than seconding that given above, is to stay close to the community and do not hesitate to lean on us for support; there is zero negative judgement here, only love for another Zevist and a desire to see you healthy and well. Also, if you ever need someone to talk to in privacy, please DM myself or any other Guardian - we are always present for those seeking betterment and healing.

Thank you all again for the support. I am doing ok, but every day is hard and some days are harder than others. I just feel lonely and sad, I miss my family and pets, but I will persist.

What is the best way to channel Folkish instincts given the new understanding? I agree fully with the Clergy and trust them, they've never steered us in a bad path and have continously blessed us with wisdom and truth. I get it that hatred and political conflict is not the way, but I'm still worried about my broader kin. The world looks so ugly now, I can't take seeing another news story of an innocent person having their life destroyed by a murder or acid attack.

God rituals to bring the power of the Gods here more strongly; and the Liturgical Prayers to remove Izfet.

The world has been ugly for a long time, it only seems worse now because we have the internet and news streaming all the bad news.

Thank you High Priestess. I am trying to do a lot of mental housecleaning so that I can serve the Gods with maximum efficiency and focus. I deeply appreciate the massive work the clergy does, I know there's a ton of work most don't even see.

Also I've been studying the Philosophy section, and it is extremely impressive. I've been interested in academic Philosophy for years, but was frustrated when questions were raised but answers were nonexistent or deeply unsatisfying. The harmony of Philosophy and Spirituality in Zevism is stunning.

I hope its appropriate for me to use my status for this, please delete if it isn't. My journey re: sobriety is still going pretty well. Quitting weed was really hard, I was super depressed for a few days, but I really needed to quit. I can feel my focus gradually returning, and I continue with study and meditation. My life is still in a pretty rough place, which causes a lot of stress, but I know it will take time to fix, I just can't allow myself to use drugs even when the stress is really bad.

I want to grow closer with the Gods, but am a bit unsure and fearful. I worry that my Guardian has left me, not that I would blame Him. But I will continue on this path, trying to be humble before the Gods and have some hope. My deepest gratitude towards all who help maintain this Temple. And if previous misunderstandings of mine on social/political issues caused anyone of goodwill to feel unwelcome, I apologize, it was not my intent but I take responsibility and am trying to continously refine my understanding.

No God has ever left us. And try sports for stress relief. There ain't much room for stress when the body aches, and endorphins kick in.

I try to study with maximum focus for hours but it is never enough, I wish I was smart enough to succeed on this path. I don't even know how to pronounce the new rituals, I would always obsess over pronunciation but no matter how hard I try I can never do anything right. I wish I wasn't so dumb and could figure out the basics of advancement. I thought spirituality would be the one area of life I could succeed in but I can't even do that.

Getting hung up on such things acts as an impediment. Doing the best you can is the best thing to do, and then you can evolve as you go. Absolutely no one does anything perfectly, and much less when starting something out.

We have members with low IQ who succeeded quite well. In fact, overthinking tends to hold people back quite a bit.

As for not pronouncing the rituals correctly, it's fine, just do the best you can. Obsessing over not being able to do things perfectly will hold you back more than imperfect pronunciations.

I apologize for my recent negativity, it's been really hard working on my sobriety. But I am keeping on, and recently I got some unexpected good fortune, praise the Gods.

I know I have many flaws (and i also took some tough blows from fate), but I am working hard each day to try and be somewhat better, and I truly want to be closer to our Gods and Goddesses. And I want to live my life in greater concordance with Ma'at. I encourage people in a similar spot, if they wish, to study our beliefs with an open mind and a sincere heart.
