You might be surprised at just how many cities/counties/states/provinces and countries have these antiquated laws. Some have got around them by not formally charging for services but instead accepting "donations" ... not a very good way to run a business.

It doesn't take much to discover how deep the rabbit hole goes ... makes one think that if we eliminated the technology of today there's no way you could distinguish our time from the Middle Ages.

Apparently, things went well The Macon Telegraph ran a story about her in its
March 28 edition. The article mentioned a Mind, Body and Spirit Expo that Bibb
plans to host this Saturday. This expo will include "sessions and demonstrations
on meditation techniques, life coaching, organic gardening and soap making, drum
circles, tai chi and reflexology."

On April 12, Bibb says, she received a letter from the Centerville city clerk,
stating that her business violates City Ordinance Section 6-1, "Fortunetelling
and similar practices prohibited." The clerk told her to close down her
business, she says.


Bibb says the letter stated: "A review of your business license application,
filled out by you, describes your business as a 'wellness center/bookstore.' Had
you disclosed the entire nature of your business at the time you applied for a
license, any lack of awareness, or misunderstanding of the applicable city
ordinance could have been cleared up."
“I’m not allowed to practice spiritualism. No meditation, no prayer, no healing

What, thats really really sucks, at least its not illegal in Michigan I am grateful to be able to drive about 3 miles and be at an occult store where I can get black candles or just about any thing, WTF I didn't think any of this stuff was illegal anywhere in the United States or Europe for that matter I guess I learn something new everyday, one more reason we should all curse the enemy and be serious about spiritual warfare (see http://indigonation.yolasite.com/spirit ... ituals.phpExternal ↗ everyone should do their part) I bet they might allow books on witchcraft at the local library (seeing as you say that's a more "progressive area) she could use that as an argument since they allow that why can't she be allowed to do her thing, I really though think this law violates the separation of Church and State so she has a right to sue, and the courts probably have to uphold, and grant her freedom to run her business whether they want to or not.
