The Arabic parts, in this case the luck part, are fictitious points. This is analyzed in many ways, some as "luck" expressing itself in the native's life in the areas where it is located (House, sign, any aspects etcc...), some "read" it in combination with high Arabic parts. Those who understand it as "karma" for good or evil.
If memory serves me correctly, soon the topic of "luck part," along with "lilith" will be covered by the Clergy sufficiently to fully understand their "function/reading."

"Fortune" comes from "Fortuna" which means fate. Here we have to think of the Tarot card Wheel of Fortune, representing both the rise and the fall, success and failure etc..
A fact to know that does not necessarily have to do with the question:
The ancients apparently separated the notion of Part of Fortune into Tyche (lunar) and Daïmon (solar). Note the very close meaning with Daemon!
