Saturn retrograde over the ruler is a brutal time in a persons life. One thing that a lot of people don't talk about is which planet your ruler is.
Saturn functioning at it's highest and most positive levels gives endurance, things that are long-lasting, and also is the Natural ruler of the 10th house which gives fame and higher social standing as well as better focus on one's work/career in life. Saturn rules Social Hierarchy.
Look at which planet your chart ruler is, its natural rulerships, and any other houses that it might rule in your natal chart. These houses and areas of your life can experience delays and misfortune during this time period. But this only happens if you just sit back and allow misfortune to manifest from this. Would be a good idea to strengthen and protect these areas of your life for the time being.
In the past HPs Pythia has said that we should do a square or strengthen any of your natal planets that are about to experience a Saturn retrograde period. The last time Saturn went retrograde it was touching a natal planet of mine but I was also in the middle of strengthening that planet in my natal chart at that time so the negative effects of Saturn didn't manifest.
The planetary squares can be life saving tools when used properly. Also don't forget about Runes. If your chart ruler is Jupiter which is currently in it's Detriment sign then you can use Runes instead to fix or protect from any issues relating to the current Saturn Retrograde period.
