To all those striving to achieve 5 minutes of a single thought of no thought; let me suggest to you a technique that will have you achieving your goal in as little as 360 counted seconds. Let me explain. My technique goes as such. There are 60 seconds in one minutes. There are 360 seconds in 5 minutes. So count in your mind to 360. Being familar and comfortable with counting as we are this will take the edge off achieving the end goal. Who doesn't feel good counting? So again. Achieving Void in as easy as 360 seconds 1.) Lay or sit as you find comfortable. 2.) Close your eyes and draw your focus to your third eye. 3.) Bring your breathing down so it has a nice even and easy pace. 4.) Begin counting 1,2,3,4,...100...200...300..360. 5.) Done now wasnt that easy. When you are done, silently, thank your kindergarten teacher, for teaching you how to count. And then thank yourself for learning. "Thy demon (that's thy spirit which keeps thee) is Noble, courageous, high, unmatchable.'" yeah that works just fine. For those that can't get this down I
suggest voiding while watching tv or listening to a radio. Both keep
the subconsious quiet. Seriously on the tv thing if it can keep the
attention of someone with ADD surely anyone could use the tv

I am confused now. Does that count as void? In void your mind is
blank and you are not thinking about anything. In this you are
thinking about the numbers. Counting certianly does calm your mind,
but while you are counting is that the void state? I didn't think
so, but maybe i had the idea of void backwards?

I see void more as a mean of acheiving a trance state than a blank
state of mind. There is really no such thing as not thinking of
anything as this would mean total unconsciousness. This is different
from just making it blank and staring into the abyss as you are still
thinking of something even though its not really anything. Hope that
helped.
