I would say, stick with what you have, and work with what you know. This can apply to the physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional concerning continuing doing what you have been doing to keep things stable. That stable base line is everything when it comes to making any progress at all, and it is what we push off of when we are trying to make our leaps upward, ultimately trying to move that base line up too. I have only learned this too well by this point, and living it better and better is causing it to really solidify in my life as it should be.
I have not been in a situation like your own, though, I do have my own challenges as well, I hope your wife gets better soon either way, that cannot be easy at all watching that go on. You know better than I can recognize that being that pillar is integral to your situation. So do not let up, you can do it, you have already gotten yourself this far, you will pull through all of this. I hope you do not have to resort to a second job in insurance either, I was in that line of wondering at one point too with similar discontent at the thought, but do what you know is best to keep that situation going.
Doing new things in a situation like this, like starting the business, runs the risk of destroying you when you say you are nearly tapped out as you are, looking at it in the reality you illustrate. Though I would keep the inspiration kindled for the right time, you will know it. Someone mentioned seeing if some family members can help, might be a good way to go if you can recruit that help, even if it not the most preferable decision. I have been there too.
I have someone in my life who has gone and suffered quite a bit in the tech and etc department of work as well, I wont be specific to keep some privacy, but she eventually found a job outside of her direct line of profession due to the lack of competent employers she tried a handful of, or employers often hiring others over her, despite her well equipped background. She is well now thankfully, and the job that accepted her pays her well and uses only a fraction of her abilities. So, if at all, and as I had recommended to her some time back, go search the job market in a way that you are trying to maximize money output for the skills you do have, even if it is in a line of work or profession you may not entirely favor or is otherwise alien to you. Of course, in interviews, you can do some interviewing and see if the situation you have will work with scheduling in the company and so on. Do not feel afraid to do this if you are already going strong at a current job, as the place you are going to if you are going to work somewhere new should be some degree better, or several than where you are now. Even if they only use a fraction of your skills as recognized as required, would make anything else you have a boon to their company. This person did this and has thankfully been able to settle down after over a year of job hunting woes. The title of the job does not mean shit if it doesn't pay. Have to say it.
As you would imagine, if you're looking for another job, don't quit until you have that start time acceptance letter/confirmation from the new job. Especially in the spot you're in. Maybe it is super obvious, but, it is not out of disrespect, considering in excitement of what could be better, some things are forgotten and is that "look before you leap" type of thing I am getting at. Otherwise, I believe you will succeed and you come off like youre trying to make the best of things despite the situation.
Some of this is recognizing what some other Temple Members here have said, some my own take.
I hope you take care of yourself through these rough times you're braving, for the sake of yourself and your family as well, and I hope your wife gets better too.
Others have covered meditations and workings that can help this situation and I can always add the consistent meditation plan is important. We have many options in advancing/progressing ourselves and solving issues that come our way. The Temple of Zeus is an extreme source of information for all of that, and that is really an understatement 100s of times over especially considering the age Humanity is coming out of.
You can make it through this, you are finding a way through this Brother, you are succeeding in doing this.
Hail Satya.
Hail Zeus.
