Hi there, my partner and I am wondering whether we can use the same altar or should each have there own? Our living situation is a bit difficult especially space wise and family wise therefore we would like to use one altar.

If you have decided to be together forever then use one, I say this because advancing spiritually together will create a very strong bond, which is a great thing. But you have to be sure.

It's fine to share one. If you want to make it feel more individual, you can each have an item that you don't share, such as having your own athames or something else personal. But using the same alter is fine.
