Knowing and telling someone's future is one thing, but along with Divination it is cruicial to also give good advice -- this is much more valuable (e.g., what lessons he needed to have learned from past failures, what to do so he can improve next time, what his blind-spots are in the ways he behaves, alternative paths to take for success, what would suit him better...).

Especially in matters of the Tarot, yes/no is very limiting. The cards are so useful for reflection and introspection, they can offer advice and guidance to the right path and show us what we've been missing in the bigger/smaller scheme of things. We all need to do more of this consciousness-building approach to self-analysis to actually attain success, progress and improve in any meaningful way.

Read and study through the Ethics and Virtues section for how to act with honour and respect. We definitely shouldn't just give out negative prophecy plainly, as this is unethical practice.

Now, just because your readings show up failure, it doesn't mean they don't give advice. The road to success can be a long one, but by focusing on implementing the advice, failures can be overcome. It can take a very long time, but it's doable.

At times, we also need to be realistic and understand if we're investing in the right thing. Wouldn't focusing on something else be a better use of that person's time? That may well be a question that needs to be asked. One needs to weigh the pros and cons, to develop awareness of things. Those who are without often don't have the tools to achieve success in this lifetime.

Have they chosen the right educational path for themselves? Have you explored that?

As other said, also, if a person is stubborn and keeps going against proper advice, you're also just wasting your time. If someone antagonises your readings no matter what, you may want to detach from them.

To avoid interference in your readings, you may want to do a ritual to either your Guardian Daemon, to Father Zeus, or any God/Goddess that is specialised in divination. After the ritual is completed, ask them to bless your tarot deck. This isn't the same as receiving approval from the Gods, but it helps your divination journey.

As for receiving approval from the Gods, you either get to the point where you're advanced enough to speak to the Gods directly, or you interact with the Priesthood/Guardians and ask to be verified. Although, after HPS Lydia's retirement from doing astrology readings, I don't think there's a verification system in place. Whether it's going to be available in the future or not, you need to ask them. The community here cannot answer that, as we're not in the know of their plans and priorities.

i did give advice. i consulted the cards for what he should embody, and it basically just further confirmed that he cannot control his bad habits which will lead to his failure unless he controls this. so i said this with honesty, that only then can he hope to change the situation. i normally keep it a little vague/open-ended to not cause panic, but this was the harsh truth he needed to hear as far as i can tell. but i still felt bad about it.

Every reading I've done has been very accurate, as I have a knack for it.

But the person was being stubborn, because they saw themselves as a failure in life and wanted to try again to prove to themselves... but they just lie to me and themselves, I can clearly see their heart is not in it and it is just self-deception, but they say the opposite with their mouth.

I wasn't sure if I was being ethical but I am sure honesty was the only moral thing to do here IMO, not false hopes, I would rather he does actually pass than give him the candy here.

I told them what energies they need to embody to succeed, and if they didn't trust my judgement to look into the cards themselves and see what resonates with their intuition. Is this ok, or due to their lack of knowledge would make things worse?

But also, thank you for the advice, I did not think to have my tarot deck blessed.

I see, I think you have good intentions then but I would suggest using more tact and approaching your friend in a way that is more constructive.
Some people appreciate the tough-love/harsh truth way of being criticized or advised, but for others it can be harmful and they need to be guided accordingly. You know your friend's personality better than I do however, I can suggest for you that maybe he needs to be spoken in a way that offers some more support and a kind of intervention-approach/gentler way to reviewing his failures (bad habits you spoke of; using more open-ended questions to ask him instead of telling him, which will guide his own self-reflection, then going from there -- being very careful about his feelings, if you really do care about your friend and want him to better himself) 💭

100% never lie in readings. If there's something that cannot be told because it would be harmful for them (i.e. predicting death), it's best to just tell them you can't answer that question.
