Kundalini Yoga is one of those subjects that is greatly misunderstood. Every “guru” out there seems to preach their own thing without ever explaining why they do what they do or why it has to be done their way instead of another. I believe most of these people are simply ignorant and don’t know what they are doing.

Remember, everything of the occult can be explained scientifically. This is by no means all there is to it, but it is the main principle on which Kundalini Yoga is based.

Life is in the Breath” — Thoth

The above quote has many interpretations, one of which has to do with the craniosacral rhythm. The cranium [skull] and pelvis are connected by the spine. Every time you inhale, the sacrum flexes back, and when you exhale, it flexes forward. At the same time, when you inhale, the sutures of your skull open up, and when you exhale, they close. This acts as a pumping mechanism for the cerebrospinal fluid.

ezgif-5-9083d139d7.gif

It makes sense then that flexing the spine back and forth while simultaneously breathing in and out, as in most Kundalini Yoga kriyas, accelerates the flow of spinal fluid. Why is this important? If you look at the composition of cerebrospinal fluid, it's made up of proteins and salts in solution. When you put proteins and salts in solution, they develop a charge.

So, what happens when you accelerate charged molecules? You create an electromagnetic field along their axis, and in the case of the human spine, that is straight up. The faster the charged molecules, the stronger the field. Movements in Kundalini Yoga are rapid for this very reason.

Nonsymmetric_velocity_time_dilation.gif

[In the animation above, the blue circle represents the accelerating cerebrospinal fluid in the spine, and the red circle is the electromagnetic field generated by it. Ignore the “progress bar” in the circles; this animation is made to show time dilation, and I couldn't find a better example.]

When you contract certain muscles [as with holding a bandha] and hold your breath, you’re increasing the pressure inside your spinal column, further accelerating the flow of spinal fluid.

All this contributes to generating a strong electromagnetic field that begins to draw energy from the chakras up the Sushumna nadi and eventually out the crown.

If you are familiar with the information on the JoS website, this should all be ringing bells. I hope this paints a vivid mental picture of what proper Kundalini Yoga looks like. By knowing the how and the why, you will naturally understand what to do and what not to do.

Don’t just go through the motions and flop around mindlessly. Kundalini Yoga is to be practiced consciously. Every breath and movement must have your full attention. This is what separates one from the sea of pretenders.

Hi, one question. Your posting this article coincided with some research I'm conducting and got me thinking about basic concepts

Which direction would you say the spiral motion of energy in the spine is in (clockwise or counter if viewed from a birds eye perspective) and could it maybe be in both depending on various factors?

I usually do it as it feels right and natural which is counterclockwise up and reverse down but recently got myself questioning that and intend to try it the other way around.

If synchronized with the chakra rotation that could also be reversed it should be as stated above, then again not all of them spin in the same direction, right?

It will be clear after some more trials but your opinion would be appreciated as you're more experienced in these matters.

Thank you

Awesome post, bookmarked!
Just about KY in general, I have found out a practice on youtube from someone called 30 day Kundalini Transformation. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9x6oNwZBfuykl5xvO0fs4u2naLpNyVkN

After every single practice I felt more energetic than if I just did regular KY from JoS. And the practices are also shorter and I usually do better when following someone on how to do it. I avoided doing it for a long time and just followed the one on JoS as everyone here mentions how many of the guru's out there are mostly wrong.

Do we just go with how we feel, like here for example, if I feel much more positive after doing this one than KY from JoS or there are certain things we should be careful of. Like not just following every single random guru online and instead practice from JoS?

If you are enjoying those ones and feel good from them, then keep doing them :)

I have done videos by Ana Brett in the past, and Kimilla (free on youtube). Other members have recommended other KY teachers too.

I'm not sure. If we assume basic laws of physics apply here, the animation I posted should be accurate in the direction of the magnetic field.

You can figure that out using the "right-hand rule for coils or solenoids." Basically, take your right hand and point your thumb in the direction of the electric current (for the human spine, you're pointing straight up). The curl of your fingers shows the direction of the magnetic field.

I don't think it can be in both directions at the same time, though.

I figured as much. That was my logic too, still it's good to get confirmation. Yeah, I didn't mean both directions at the same time. A reversed polarity field is a simple concept but I'm not sure if it's applicable here.

Thanx again

This was well informed. Thank you brother. Please continue on with such work

Thank you for the great post! It really paints a good image in the mind. I love the animations, making it feasible in the mind scientifically helps in making the mind create in in reality!

I started practicing kundalini and hatha yoga for hours a day, while everyone is out im at my house practicing yoga I’ve become obsessed ! I’m wondering tho is following hatha yoga routines from people on YouTube effective since I can’t seem to make up my own routines?

Sometimes I would just put on some music and set the mood..🙂

And go into a relaxing stretch? Depending on the music and if you're in the mood to dance or kind of in that party mode? But don't want to be around people.. when you just want to dance privately in your room?
Where you can work all that energy out. Go into kind of a Kundalini breathing by taking in your energy and working with it following a proper breathing pattern. And getting to a Kundalini breathing exercise for a while to work up your energy.. and then start going into the cooling down sensation where your body is all loosened and you've got all of that excess energy out of you! That would be the perfect time to go into a soothing stretch and go into some various yoga poses of your choice? Whatever is comforting to you and just work your way up.
Tried different poses that you can actually go into without Forceing or strain of any kind. And just ease into the different poses and experiment!🙂 and take it from there and make it into a 5-minute class or 20 minute class? Whichever you prefer. And that way you can create your own yoga classes write down the poses that you did or was working with? And you can either stick with those? Or gradually add into extra poses next time you go into a yoga course.
And that way you can create your own yoga programs choosing your own yoga poses starting out with those you feel comfortable with
And work your way up to intermediate or to Advanced depending on where you're at? And just have fun with it and get his creative as fuck!😀⚡

I will definitely be trying that method! I don’t understand why some SS find it hard or don’t seem to be finding the motivation to start yoga routine. It is so soothing and a magical gifts from the gods

can I write a topic? I know how to make Kundalini yoga much more effective. I want to make sure that we don't write about the same topics. Are you not going to continue the topic?

Great Post! Thanks for make this article.. Now i have reasonable understanding of Kundalini Yoga and can align between my mind (logic and intuition) and heart/souls so it can be harmonious and i can practice it more effective

Ive always follow my intuition when comes to spiritual, mental and physical matters. The same way mi intuition tells me to eat an apple this morning, training certain way, focusing on certain chakra or doing breathing exercises, this intuition has served me well, now having knowledge like this + intuition, makes you have a sparking light on how should it work a godhead. Thank you for this post!

What about causing the spinal energy to spin at the speed of light continually.? I get a buzz from it. It world be nice if one can do this at the correct speed for long enough to reverse aging.

please remember i ask this out of a state of ignorance. I've always been told that the sutures in our skulls fuze together so by logic they shouldn't move. I understand that the gil you used is some kind of odd exageration. i just don't understand why or how they would move simply because your breathing?

They fuse together but the skull is malleable as it is not fused together like steel plates.

Hail Father Satan.
Yes, the illustration is very exaggerated, the movement is very little. This as a subject in itself is very obscure and not well documented online at all, it's hard to find a proper scientific paper on it.

thank you Power of Justice and Henu the great for your responce. I understand it a tad better and also why i haven't heard of this kind of movement before. That helps me grasp the original post much better- in every anatomy class or book they have made the suture fusion seem like steel plates but i do tend to forget that our bones do have a spongy quality to them to an extent- shock absorbers- thank you for reminding me of this.
I am always fascinated by learning more about the human body and mind- so much we think we know but it turns out we don't.

Hail Father Satan

This is extremely interesting and very well presented, so that people who have the bare minimum knowledge in science can understand.
Thank you very much for sharing!
