It's been said before that the Gods use energy as their main form of currency, similar to the way we humans see physical money right now, but there's more to it than that. I'm going to explain this from a more "materialistic" perspective, using donations to JoS as a frame of reference.
Basically, the Gods do have "money", but their “money” is backed by spiritual and emotional value. What this means is that the value of the money you give is "scaled" based on how much "effort" it cost you.
Here's an example, if you can survive on 10$ per day and you earn 20$, that means you have 10$ you're free to keep or spend. If you give 5$ and keep the other 5$, that's 50% of your "extra wealth" given to the Gods and the Joy of Satan community. If you like you can "go all in" and give the whole extra 10$, but keeping 5$ for yourself to place in a savings account is good too.
Should you want to give the whole extra 10$, that's offering 100% monetary effort. That's something that could be done after you've built up a big enough savings, and you feel comfortable giving more.
If you don't have extra money to offer, there's always FRTR and helping other SS. The FRTR is more of tool to help yourself and other Satanists than it is to serve the Gods, but it works for both. Helping other SS by assisting with JoS projects or offering useful advice also counts.
From a human perspective, the two options above cost you time, which is very “expensive” coming from us human beings. It's highly valued because we have a very limited time to be alive here on Earth. So putting in “physical” effort is also greatly appreciated by the Gods and our community.
Just for further clarification, I'll provide a time example also. You only have 24 hours in a day, you rest for 10, you work and or study for 8, leaving you with 6 hours of free time. On days off from both school and work, you'd have 14 hours of free time. In this free time you could help out your fellow SS.
On a working day, if you spend 2 hours playing video games or watching TV, then spend 4 hours on a JoS project, that's roughly 66.7% effort. During days off, if you still burn 2 hours playing games, but help the JoS community for 12, that's about 85.8% effort. Those of us who want to spend all their free time helping other SS, would be giving 100% effort.
I used a calculator to get those percentages with decimal points. I rounded up those numbers because the results I got are actually called “mixed numbers”. A basic calculator represents some fractions as “repeating numbers”, don't try to write them, just round the number up or down.
Keep in mind, that breaks to allow yourself time to recover do not “count against” you. The Gods know we need rest, so don't “burn yourself out” trying to help others, take some “me time” to go meditate, find inspiration, or just relax. Taking some time for self-improvement and healing will enhance the quality of your work too, which in turn makes your work more “valuable”.
You don't have to rush to help someone, just be there when the opportunity presents itself. If you're writing a long post like this one, don't rush it, take your time, this isn't a live chatroom, this is a forum. Some of these long posts I write take many hours of brainstorming, meditating, and proofreading.
I like to type my longer posts into a word processor. When I'm ready to post what I've written, I copy paste it into the message window on JoS, click “Preview”, adjust the paragraph spacing if needed, then click “Submit”.
The amount of blood, sweat, and tears you put into a productive task is also favored by the Gods. If you don't have any extra money to spare, but you have plenty of time, then just put in some elbow grease. All effort towards building and promoting the Gods and the JoS community in a positive, healthy, and legal way is greatly appreciated.
The Gods do give back, but it takes time for their gifts to manifest, and they could manifest in an infinite number of ways. If you take the time to open up your mind and soul, you'll start to notice and appreciate more of what the Gods are doing for you “behind the scenes”. The Gods don't offer free handouts, that's just brainwashing brought to you by the (((mainstream religions))).
