Pretty much what the title said. When I attempt to do void meditation while cross sitting or even on a chair. I tend to sway when getting relaxed, which often leads to my head falls backward and shook me awake. How can I sit still while going deep into trance. Or is corpse pose best for this void meditation?

Keep in mind that you should try to meditate when you are fully awake; otherwise, you might fall asleep.

You can raise your energy before the void meditation so that it can help you stay awake. Besides, you can try this meditation with your eyes open; after a couple of times, you can start meditating with your eyes closed.

Corpse pose is all right if you don’t fall asleep. Actually, any pose you’re good with is OK.

I think you are mixing together Void and Trance. You could do both together like you have been doing, but you do not need to. You could do void without trance. But it could be a helpful thing to do them together.

For void, I think of it like just calmly watching your senses. Just sit there, relax, and you will observe your senses. See what is in front of you, hear all the sounds. But without thinking about them. Just calmly watching. It is hard at first, it does take practice, but you can do it.

For void and trance at the same time, maybe you could sit at a table or a desk, and lean your head onto your arms. Then you will not fall, because your head is already supported.
