Most usually insurance does not cover stuff when the insured person has taken illicit subtances and this is known by the company. It is also possible for companies to refuse selling insurance if they are taking these subtances. It is probably the same with experimental medications. Now, it might not be the case with 100% of insurances, and it really depends what insurance are we talking about.
