Covid-19 and Quashing Rights

A man has been arrested for making a video where he alleges that the Covid-19 testing kits are likely contaminated by the virus itself - and asking people to refuse the mass roll-outs of testing until it can be proven that the tests [that originate from China] aren't contaminated (through testing the kits before allowing swabs etc into your body).
His trial is on Tuesday.

In South Africa, saying anything about the coronavirus is being branded as "fake news" and can result in jail time. Sounds extremely Orwellian to me.

China HAS been giving out faulty and contaminated coronavirus testing kits to countries. Kits sent to the UK were found to be contaminated with the virus.

IMO spreading fake news about Coronavirus being punished with jail is totally fine. Not because I'm against freedom of speech, but because idiots are likely to believe everything they hear, and the situation would go even worse, not for idiots only, but for everyone
