Introduction/ Minerals and Crystals

Hello,
before I get into this topic i would like to officially introduce myself to the JoS community. I have been actively developing my psychic senses for about 10 years now along with practicing as wicca for the latter half. I dedicated myself to Father Satan 13 months ago, this month has really opened me up to a lot of wonderfully spiritual moments and I couldn't be more grateful and excited.

I decided to write about Crystals and stones because I am in college studying for a major in Geology, due to my love of the outdoor life and my interest in minerals. I particularly find the metaphysical aspect of crystals to be interesting, although many people find this idea laughable. OH WELL.

In regards to the above stated, I would like to hear your own thoughts on crystals and minerals. What do you think of them, do they hold energy or not, how do you like to use them, what is your personal favorites and why, etc.

Today I went to one of my favorite stores and picked up some Serpentine, Septarian, Sapphire, and Ammonite.. as well as Moldavite, which I've been wanting to get for years! After reading about the meanings in my books and online once I got home, they REALLY REALLY resonated with everything spiritual that has been unfolding the past month.

I'm interested in this topic, as there unfortunately isn't nearly enough reliable information on the properties of most minerals and gems. I believe that there is a stone out there for any kind of energy that exists, and that these can be used as props to aid in the success of corresponding workings.

The only knowledge on this topic that I have so far is what little we have from the JoS official sources. If you havent read up on this yet, I suggest you take a look at the Runic Kabalah and the Planetary Rulerships, which both list gemstones that correspond to the individual energies of the runes / planets.

Stones can certainly be useful spiritual tools, but their power is greatly exaggerated by the New Age community to keep people from advancing their personal powers. Like most new age ideas and rituals tend to do.

I say this as someone who loves collecting minerals and placing them on my alter. They definitely do have a special energy to them, but I’ve never felt they particularly made any spiritual working I’ve done.

Me too. I'm wondering if the correct way to charge the crystals is to chant a rune (or mantra?) while holding a crystal. Hmm? I am planning to buy some crystals in not too distant future and considering charging the crystal and wearing it for empowering effect.

Yes, you would want to infuse it with energy and program it with an affirmation, basically. How you do that in the end is up to you. Usually you'd choose a stone based on the kind of energies you want to work with, and then vibrate a corresponding rune/mantra into it and program it daily for atleast 40 days.
