Chapter Seven
Lydia walked over to one of the Vestals. “Is your arm hurt?”asked Lydia. “It got crushed when I was in the temple” Replied the Vestal. “Vin” Breathed Lydia. Her arm instantly healed up almost to normal. “Thank you Priestess! Said the Vestal. As Shannon was slouched into the chair, she looked at Lydia and her Vestal Talk. “We must plan our next course of action.” Said Shannon. “Firs things first, we need to get my Vestals out of this town, they no longer can stay here. I want to give them to you Lydia.”
Lydia looked in complete shock at Shannon. “I couldn’t.” Said Lydia. “If they go to your temple in Demonia, there they can be of use to your city, in your absence, and they cannot stay here. Replied Shannon. “She does make a really good point.” Said TALGONDON. “Okay, I guess you are right, you make a good point. Said Lydia. “It is decided then.” Said Shannon, standing up from the chair. She walked over to the Remaining Vestals. “Take Hearth and go to Demonia. Maintain the Temple of Athena, for Priestess Lydia.” “Ofcourse my Lady.” Replied a Vestal.
They then walked outside and went on their way. “Now, what is your next course of action shannon?” Asked Central Force. “Okay now we need to let Commander Serpent know that our Mission was a failure and what the current situation is.” Said Shannon. “ Lydia can you send your owl Sophia to deliver a Message to the Temple of the SUN?” “Ofcourse.” Said Lydia. Shannon walked over to a small desk, and took out a piece of parchment and a quill, dipped the quill in a bottle of ink and began writing out a letter. Once she was done, She Rolled the letter up and walked across the room and handed it to Lydia. Lydia then attached the letter to the leg of the owl. “Fly quickly my dear, this message must reach him as soon as possible.” Said Lydia.
The owl understanding the mission, then flew off of her arm and out the window. “Excellent.” Said Ardedco. “What now?” Suddenly a loud banging began on the front door. “Oh I know this one!” Said Stormblood. “Next we answer the door.” Shannon looked over at Stormblood. “Is he always like this?” She asked. “Incurably soo.” Said Egon. “A Fearless warrior though. Said Talgondon. The banging continued. “You all need to hide.” Whispered Central Force.
“Hide?” Asked Shannon. “The Priestess of Vesta doesnt hide!” Shannon walked over to the door and swung it open. There outside the door, stood three guards. “Shannon!” Exclaimed on of the Guards. “Ramier?!” Said Shannon in shock. “Thats her!” Said one of the other guards. The two pushed themselves into the house and grabbed Shannon. “What are you doing Ramier?!” Yelled Shannon. “My Duty.” Replied Ramier. As he walked into the house. A massive muscular Guard with thick armor. “You are an outlaw and we are here to arrest you.”
“Now come with us, without a fight, or this will get ugly.” “Ramier you traitor!” Said Shannon. “Bring her.” Said Ramier. The two Guards pulled Shannon and began to walk out the door with her. “What fools, that you think you can come and just take us.” Said Lydia. “We are…” But she was cut off, as Ramier grabbed the two guards by the head, and slammed them together, knocking them both out. Then Walked over and closed the door. “What do you think of my acting skills?” Said Ramier.
Shannon sighed in relief. “You convinced even me.” Said Shannon. “Everyone this is my friend I thought was about to be in a death battle with, Ramier.” “Hello Everyone.” Said Ramier. “Thank the Gods.” SaId Egon. “I thought I was about to have to throw Talgondon at him as a shield.” “Wait what!?” Said Talgondon.
“We have to get you out of the city.” Said Ramier. “It wont take them long to learn this patrol got taken out, they have mobilized the cities whole army to find you, the walls are shut and the city is on lockdown.” “Lock Downs Suck.” Said Stormblood. “I have lived in one of those before.” “I can sneak you all out of the city, there is a hidden access point, that is used by the Guards.” Said Ramier. “Lets get this armor off of these two guards, and have Shannon and Lydia wear it. The rest can be our Prisoners, and they wont think magick users.”
“Thats a great plan!” Said Lydia. “Well centralforce, it looks like you will need to come with us.” Said Shannon. “Damnit Shannon!” Said Central Force. “You mean I am going to have to leave my easy life, of sitting here, handing out herbs, to go travel with you lot, to the Temple of the SUN, on some Holy mission from the Gods?” As he smiled. “I know, sorry for the bother.” Said Shannon. “I mean you could stay here and be a prisoner instead. That might be even better.” They Smiled at each other.
Ramier led the group out of the House and walked to a stone wall, there he opened a secret door and they walked in. They traversed the Hall way inside the wall. Some Guards walked past and simply nodded. Then they got to another hidden door, and appeared outside of the city walls. “Now we just have to walk, all the way there…”Said Lydia “Hey Lydia gets to walk some where with us!” Exlcaimed Talgondon. The others looked at him. “Did I just have a Storm Blood moment?” “Onward we march like Spartans on a mission!” Said Stormblood. Lydia and Shannon looked at each other. As they took off their Helmets and dropped them to the ground.
“Alright, well lets use those good ole leg ponies.” Said Aldrick. “We have some of those!” Exclaimed Stormblood. “That means walk….” Said Aldrick. “Darnit!” Said Stormblood. The team then began their march. After an hour, A team of horses were heard coming their way. “What now?” Asked egon. “Wait, those are Pandemonium Troops.” Said Lydia. The team stopped and waited for them to approach. “Thats Lydia!” Yelled a Guard. The Troops came up to the group. “Lydia what are you doing out here?” Asked a Guard. “Oh you know.” Said Lydia. “Just hangin with my posse.” Talgondon and Egon looked over at Lydia in confusion. “I told you I don’t write my jokes!” Exclaimed Lydia.
“I helped them to escape out a secret guard entrance.” Said Ramier. “Well there goes our Rescue mission.” Laughed the Guard. “Here we have some extra horses, let us escort you to the city.” Stormblood jumped on to his horse. “Leg ponies!” Exclaimed Stormblood. “I knew you would save us!” “Must be what Posses call Horses.” Said a Guard to another guard. “Oh!” Said the other guard. The lot of them were then escorted back to the city of pandemonium. They strode up to the Temple of the SUN and walked through the front doors. Sophia flew across the room and landed on Lydias shoulder. “Sophia!” Exclaimed Lydia Happily.
Commander Serpent strode up to them. “Thank the Gods you are safe.” Said Serpent. “We have learned more since your last visit.” Master Sloth peered out of the door of the Library. “Yes It seems my studies have been concluded.” Said Master Sloth. As he tripped on some books and tumbled out in main room. Then he got up and brushed himself off. “So it seems the origins of the Goblins go deeper then any of us would have expected. Apparently they are Reptilian Hybrids. Their True masters being fully Reptilian, had their slaves, A type of Borg, mix their DNA with that of a humans, creating Goblins”
“Thats horrible!” Said Ardedco. “No wonder they are so vile.” “Yes.” Said Sloth. As everyone looked at each other in disbelief. “Now they have a head Reptilian, his name is Meholeh. It appears he is in possession of the other 11 letters. He and the Goblin were suppose to rendezvous, on this next upcoming planetary alignment, where they were to combine the two halves, and recite all 22 letters together, thus summoning their God. The Leviathan, a Giant Black Dragon, who will devour and destroy all of the land.”
“And now they have the city under lockdown by force of the Army!” Yelled Shannon. “So they will keep everyone out, while they invite the Overlord Reptilian and summon their God, IN MY CITY!” “Precisely.” Said Sloth. “I am sorry we failed you.” Said Lydia. “Well thats only half, of what I learned.” Chimed Sloth. “If we can go in and take the 22 letters from them, and reverse them, we then destroy their God and all their power forever. We are also in command of one of the largest and most powerful Armies in the land. But then it gets better.”
“Even better?” asked Ramier. “Are any of you aware of the Legend of the SUN?” Asked Sloth. “Yes.” Spoke Aldrick. “When 12 warriors align together, they are able to awaken the SUN. From what Serpent told me, it may happen right…..here.” “Yes.” Said Sloth. As he looked at the group. Lydia sudden paused and looked around the room. “Wait..” She breathed. “The first four, Stormblood, Talgondon, Egon and Aldrick, then Serpent is leo, Ardedco said he takes care of the details, Virgo and then I’m Libra, Ramier is the one who was clouded in betrayal, Scorpio, Shannon is the flame and the warriror, Saggittarrius, Central force is the quiet hard worker, Capricorn, and Sloth is the Wise one, Aquarius. But were missing Pisces.”
“Very good!” Said Sloth. “But we have Pisces here as well. Are you aware of what the Triumvirate is?” Asked Sloth. “No.” Replied Lydia. Serpent Chimed in. “The Triumvirate are the three leaders of this temple and this city. Myself who is in control of the Army as General, Master Sloth who is in charge of the Library and knowledge, and the Oracle of Delphi, The one who channels Apollo, The God of the SUN.”
“Pisces.” Said Sloth.
Chapter 8
“She is in the highest chamber of the Temple.” Said Serpent. “My Highest informant of course.” Said Sloth. “We should go to her now.” Said Serpent. They followed Master Sloth and Commander Serpent up the stairs. Serpent winded up the stairs till he got to the top. Then he knocked three times on a large wooden door. A Guard opened the door and let them in. They walked into a very elegant room. In the middle was a fountain, where Three streams of water sprouted out and converged back into one. A woman in a Golden Shining robe walked over to them. “Hello.” Said the Woman. “This is the Oracle of Delphi, Madame Maxine.” Said Serpent.
“Good to meet all of you.” Said Madame Maxine. “Today we shall lift the veil.” She walked over to a giant golden sarcophagus that stood up straight. “Here hopefully we can resurrect His Spirit from the Grave, so the world may know his Truth.” The Group looked at each in confusion. “The SUN is Ramses the second.” Said Sloth. Everyone jumped in surprise. “We are going to bring him back?!” Asked Aldrick. “That’s the plan.” Said Sloth.
“Everyone stand in a circle around the sarcophagus.” Said Madame Maxine. Everyone stood in a circle in their given signs order. “In the Almighty Name of Apollo! We beseech the powers of the Gods!!” Exclaimed Madame Maxine. “ In the Almighty name of Pan! May his chosen SUN come forward! To reclaim the Kingdom that was stolen from him!!”
“Now everyone chant ODAL.” Said Madame Maxine. Everyone began chanting. ODAL, ODAL, ODAL, ODAL, ODAL!!! The room felt as though it began to spin. An electrifying force entered the air. Above the Temple lightening began to flash. They looked up as they heard the thunder. From an opening in the ceiling, lighting shot into the temple and hit the fountain. Part of it went and hit Lydia, knocking her to the floor. Serpent walked over, and picked her up to her feet. “Wake up Lydia.” Said Serpent. He carefully shook her, and she woke back up.
“Are you alright?” Said Serpent. “Yes.” Said Lydia.”Just a little shaken.” Serpent walked back to his spot. As the lid of the sarcophagus slid open. Talgondons eyes widened. Inside was a portal that was blazing with light. Out of the Blinding Light, stepped out a Man, clothed in Egyptian Pharoh clothes. He strode up to The Priestess of Delphi. As the Lid closed back behind him.
“Hes Back.” Gasped Madame Maxine.
“Good Afternoon.” Said Ramses. As he walked over to Maxine. “Thank you for your help in bringing me back to this world.” He then walked over to Commander Serpent and Master Sloth. “So, I have seen that which is going on, they will not tolerate peace, we have no choice but to give them war. Will you ready our army?” “Certainly.” Said Serpent. As he walked over to a guard and gave him an order. “Hello, my warriors.” Said Ramses. As he approached the rest. “You have come far to reach here, as was the will of the Gods. Are you ready for the Battle of Battles?”
“We are ready!” Said Lydia with confidence. “Just let me at them!” Said Stormblood. “I must take back my city.” Said Shannon. “The Battle for Veritas.” Said Ramses. “The battle for Truth.” The marching sound of foot steps could be heard outside in the city. They all walked to the corner of the room, where there was two large doors, that were opened up to a balcony, that looked over the city. They walked out onto the Balcony and looked out onto the city. The Marching Army came to a halt right in front of the temple. As well as the citizens of Pandemonium came and gathered. It was a huge crowd, people in every direction.
Serpent walked out into view of the people. “Ansuz.” He muttered. Casting a spell that would magnify the voice of anyone who spoke on the balcony by a thousand times or more. “People of Pandemonium!.”Spoke Serpent. The crowds looked up attentively to listen. “We have before us a battle! A Battle of extreme importance to all! But first I have news. Our Leader! Ramses the Second, has returned to us!! To Lead us in this triumphant battle!”
The Crowds looked on in shock, as Ramses then strode to the front where Serpent Stood. The Crowds began to scream in excitement. Then Ramses began to speak.
“The Decision is now, BE IT WAR OR PEACE. The Goblins can either give us our freedom, or we now go and GET IT FOR OURSELVES!! Now I march before my people as the FIRST OF ITS SOLDIERS! And behind me, let it be known to the world, Marches a people, a people that is different from others!”
“And today I IMPLORE YOU, my people, STAND BEHIND ME!! Man by Man, Woman by Woman! We must all Sacrifice what we can. For only then, when this entire people, becomes a united community of sacrifice, then can we expect, can we hope, that the Gods will grant us assistance in our endeavors. Pan has never helped a LAZY MAN!! He does not help the Coward, He does not help a people that cannot help themselves. Here the same principles apply, People HELP YOURSELVES!! Then the ALMIGHTY PAN HIMSELF cannot deny you his assistance!!”
The Crowds began to roar. Then chanting began. HAIL RAMSES! HAIL RAMSES! HAIL RAMSES!
“With this new people, we shall forge A NEW COMMUNITY. That was the task, we once undertook thousands of years ago, the task that is much clearer to us now then it was before. I will return after this war, again with my old teachings, whose realizations seem more important to me now, then perhaps it did back then. Theses realizations, which brought me here today. We have again the opportunity, to exercise the spirit of this community.”
“There is no way of repaying the front for its sacrifices. But the accomplishments of the homeland will likewise stand the test of History. It is necessary, that the soldier upon the front must know, that everyone who stays behind, will be taken care of. That it will take care of him to the best of its abilities. That he must know. That is how it must be, so that later the homeland, can be mentioned in relationship to the great achievements upon the front.”
“EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT THEY MUST DO IN THIS TIME!! Every woman, every man-THEY KNOW. What is rightfully asked of them!! What they are obliged to give. If at any time!! You are walking the streets, and should have any doubts, whether you should give something more, then turn your gaze sideways and perhaps you will see. Someone who has given so much more for Pandemonium then you have!!”
The crowds erupted into praise.
“It is my belief, that this imposes upon us only one duty-namely. To strive to further our ideals. We must realize one thing clearly! When this war is over, it is the soldier of Pandemonium who will have won it! Who has come from the farms and trades. Who truly represent the mass of our people! It will have been won by the Home front. By the Millions of men and women, the workers and Farmers! It will have been won by the creative men in the offices and professions. All of these Active people. They will have won it!”
“For all of these people, THEY MUST KNOW! That this new state will be built for them! TODAY! WE GO FORTH TO THE FRONT!! And you will see, how this armed force, becomes more and more to our ideals. How they will take on more and more of the imprint of our new state. How all Privileges and class prejudices are being Eliminated more and more. I shall be there to witness it, as I too shall go to the front, to lead my men. For I have come out of you my people. At the end of this war, our community of a new people, will have proven itself most in this war. That is what distinguishes the new Pandemonium that will be created from that of before.”
“This we owe to the immeasurable heroism of the Front. The Heroism of the iron Soldiers, known and unknown. What is being achieved here, on the battlefield and in the city. By men and above all by the innumerable Women, it is tremendous. I have not talked to those, of my own people, in so long! All I can say for such a speech, is one thing.”
“THINK-INCESSANTLY-MEN AND WOMEN. That in this war, it will decide the TO BE OR NOT TO BE of our people!!”
“For when you understand that. Then everyone of your thoughts and everyone of your actions, all of that will be one single prayer, for not only Pandemonium, but to all the cities, of those who stand for the Gods of Truth!!!”
“How Fitting that this war shall take place in the city of Veritas, the City of Truth. For now that my Spirit has risen from the Grave, the battle for Truth begins again, and the TRUTH IS ON OUR SIDE!!”
The Crowds cheered loudly.
“In the end, we must have one understanding, WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER!!!!!”
Ramses then walked away from the edge and the crowd exploded into praise. Serpent then walked back to the masses.
“They send their massive armies ahead!” Boomed Serpent. “Today our troops fight deep into enemy territory! The Fight for our existence nears its dramatic Climax! It is not just a battle for the freedom and security of pandemonium!! Instead a gigantic confrontation about the future fate of all our people!! ON THIS DAY, WE SHOW THEM WHAT THE POWERS OF HELL ARE CAPABLE OF!!!!”
SOLDIERS!! MARCH!! FORWARD!!!!!!
The soldiers lifted their spears and yelled in anger. It was an explosion of voices that made the earth itself shake. The fury and the might of the people, became something beyond formidable. The Enormous Army joined by civilians then began pouring out of the city. As Commander Serpent stood looking over the crowd.
The war had Begun…..
