Icelandic: Þurs
Norwegian: Thurs

Thaur is the more powerful version of Thurisaz.

Listen to the .mp3 files I shared in the link.

Rs are rolled. TH is as if you are saying either the word "the" or "Thursday", depending on the version of the Rune you are using. It can also be pronounced "T H" as two letters individually.

THURISAZ
3
Thyth & Thurisaz are in the Germanic MP3, whereas Thurs is in the Icelandic MP3. That is how to pronounce it - but notice the difference between "TH" and "T H". You should experiment with
  • T H A U R, and
  • TH A U R
and see which works the best for you.

You could also use the Rune PERTHRO to learn more about the Runes.

When you use runes, you should also visualise them on your soul. They created pathways between the 7 main chakras and their extensions, so the energy can run through them. There was a thread about this with a visual example concerning the Algs rune.

You could give it a try and see how it works, but I don't think it would be of much help. As said by Stormblood, the Runes are pathways of the Soul. Thanks for reminding me about that, Stormblood.

To picture this Image in your Soul, you visualise it as it is in the picture, with you looking towards your computer screen here. i.e. the vertical line is your spine, and the right-pointing arrowhead/chevron, as we see it here, is the left side of your body.

A member also said/showed a picture to illustrate that you can visualise the Rune - any of the Runes - around you in your Aura, as well -

This is just a 2-D picture, so visualise it in 3-D. You can experiment to see which helps you more.

Great info everyone! Reading all of this has made me come up with a question...

some of them say that they can be used to empower and activate other runes. Does this mean that in order to empower Thaur with Sowilo I would have to jump back and forth between vibrating the two runes at the same time? Or would I just vibrate Sowilo for a while then immediately vibrate Thaur afterwards?

You would either vibrate sowilo, (saulo is the more powerful version of sowilo), before or after you vibrate thaur.

For example:
Saulo x88
Thaur x88

Or Thaur x88
Saulo x88

You can experiment to see which works the best for yourself, but one way to try is to do a full number of vibrations and affirmations for one of the Runes, then move to the other Rune. e.g. 27 vibrations for one Rune, with maybe 3x (3 is the number of creation and destruction, depending on the intention/working) for the affirmation - "[Rune 1] is empowering [Rune 2]" (or 3 times 3 which is 9, which would also work); then 27 vibrations for the second Rune, with 8 (for eternity) or 9 (for permanence, in terms of ending something) for the affirmation - "[whatever your Rune working is for]".
  1. vibrate Rune 1 either a multiple of the number of the Rune (every Rune has a number), or 8 (eternity) or 9 (permanence) times;
  2. affirm "The energies of [Rune 1] are empowering [Rune 2]" a few times
  3. vibrate Rune 2 a multiple of the Rune's number of times or 8 or 9 times;
  4. affirm "[whatever your working is for]"
More vibrations are necessary. More than 20 is good, but 108 or 216, if you can handle it and concentrate and have enough time and will-power, is much better. The affirmations don't need to be repeated as many times - the power numbers tend to be less than 10, but some numbers, such as 11 and 13, are also power numbers. Generally, 3 is creation/destruction; 6 is hard work/labour; 8 is eternity for positive things; and 9 is permanence for ending things, with 3 being repeated twice or thrice (6 or 9), and with 108 being a powerful number which is also divisible by 9. Numbers can compliment each other, which is quite obvious.

It might be necessary to not use the empowering Rune Sowilo, to keep things simple & use less time, and also to test how the working's results could work without it.

By the way - if we don't have strong Souls, it might take more attempts to achieve desired results. Also if we are doing 27 vibrations instead of 108, for example, we also might need to repeat the working. An idea I give to people is another one for experimenting - maybe try a one-off working with a high number of vibrations (e.g. 108 or 216) just once, and see the results of that, which might help us gauge it for if we did a full 40-day (or 80 or 90-day) working). 40 days is a full working, and 80 is double 40 (der!), and if you did 80 days, you'd might as well do 10 more.
