Is this an ach-laut or an ich-laut? When I listened to HP Maxine's recording of the square, I heard more of an ich-laut.MANTRA FOR THE MOON:
AUM ŞRAAM ŞRIM ŞRAUM SAU CHANDRAMASE NAMA
CH is properly pronounced as the German Ich, there is no English equivalent. The CH sound is made in the soft palate towards the throat, not in the front/hard palate as in English.

Re: Moon Square Pronounciation
The Sanskrit C and CH are palatal consonants pronounced with the soft palate in the back of the mouth, like she wrote, just like ñ in Muñka. The German ach-laut is pronounced further back in the throat. So yes, it is close to the ich-laut if comparing to German.
