Classical Music as a meditation
Classical Music as a meditation
I am listening to classical music in order to solve some spiritual problems at this moment and want to share with people this ancient technique. It has been scientifically shown to relax the mind. This is what I needed most. I'm not sure why it alone is a meditation and not other music like Rock, Jazz or country is but it is much more complex. I'm surprised and happy that it is a meditation that can help me advance.

This is very helpful as the absence of words lets your mind relax without being submitted to concepts expressed by mainstream music.
Also I personallu think classical music came straight from the Gods (my feeling).

Re: Classical Music as a meditation
The thing with a lot of classical is that it's very volatile. Take 'In the hall of the Mountain King' by Grieg, for example. It starts up very slow and explodes with intensity at the end. This can shock you in meditation and be negative. The same with Die Walkure. These get me excited and definitely not relaxed. If you want to use music, I definitely recommend creating a custom playlist with calm tracks that you have listened to beforehand, so you don't get shocked.

Listen to the Devil’s trill, it is written by Tartini, it’s said that Satan himself appeared to him in a dream and played it, Tartini mentioned he never was able to recreate as beautifully as Satan did. Hp Maxine made a sermon regarding it a long time ago.Gerecht Ror wrote:This is very helpful as the absence of words lets your mind relax without being submitted to concepts expressed by mainstream music.

Re: Classical Music as a meditation
Throughout my advancement the past few years I would say, Music above all has been my leading motivator.
Not in the sense that I wish to be a Musician... but that music invokes in me the greatest "strength of will"...
I have found some artists have the ability to storytell within their albums instead of just making multiple "one hit wonders" and putting them on a disc.
Current Favorite Album
Ive come up with a few musical meditations myself you might find interesting..
1. Pick a good album you love
2. Foundation Meditation, breath in the music!!
3. It naturally happens for me but, let the energy kinda dance within your body, almost as though the melody is controlling the energies within your body... "Feel the Music"
4. Have fun Its just like dancing but with your soul
I recently added a new technique of like putting myself within a pyrimid to trap the energies within, and like let the dancing energies echo off the walls to further amplifiy the energies...
Ill try this with Classical Music and pass you back my results ^_^

Re: Classical Music as a meditation
Just listening to classical music is not a meditation as far as I know. You can use classical music in the Sound meditation exercise here, though : http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpentis666/Sound.html
But I am interested in the effects it has compared to other music - as it is the only music that uses purely string and wind instruments in creating its songs while all other genres are excluded because of their use of drums and electronically modified instrumental music. Can classical music be used to raise logic and knowledge as many claim - I don't know.

My parents would play classical music when I was a baby and young child when I went to sleep and for an hour or two in. They believed it to be beneficial, and I do think I've read abou studies that show this.NaziMan12 wrote:Just listening to classical music is not a meditation as far as I know. One thing you can note in HPS Maxine Dietrich's Sermon http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpentis666/MUSIC.html is the ability of music to turn moods, a key part of Satanism according to the site, into what ever emotion you are looking for. I quote HPS Maxine Dietrich, "a fast beat can get one going, a soothing beat can calm one's mood,".

There is instrumental music that uses only drums and other percussion instruments. Same goes for brass instruments.NaziMan12 wrote:Just listening to classical music is not a meditation as far as I know. This next bit is a directed to everyone. There is a misconception related to what classical music is. Classical music is exclusively what pertains to the XVIII's century movement, not the opposite of light music. Then there is Baroque music for the XVII's century cultural movement, Romantic music for the XIX's century, etc. The general distinction that can be made today to classify only two broad sections of music is: serious music and light music. My music teacher in middle school used to rant about this all the time and this behaviour left a mark on me. Sorry for being finical.
I recently started listening to Pachelbel, Strauss, Schubert, Tchaikovsky and other musicians during my asana and meditation sessions. I agree with Gerecht Ror on his stance on this kind of music. I also think that listening to instrumental music of any kind, especially cultivated music like this avoid the nasty lyrics present in popular music to attach themselves into our subconscious. Also remember that this music comes from a time before the Jews started putting subliminals of the Torah in everything. Just a thought.
