The point of this article is to take away any excuses that a Spiritual Satanist might have for not advancing by showing that one holds ultimate responsibility for themselves. I will explain how the only reason we are even conscious and able to experience this life is because of our soul, and try to put into words the unbelievable creative power it is capable of.
I hate it when I see people who, instead of looking for ways to grow, come to the forums and write whole essays about why Satanism isn't really for them, how they didn't see any results after 2 weeks of meditation, or how they are always unmotivated and can never get anything done. They fail to understand that the very soul they choose to neglect and let wither away out of ignorance is responsible for creating every aspect of their lives.
To show just how in touch we really are with our souls, I’m first going to explore the idea that the brain itself, which we have come to believe is the source of our thoughts and identity, is actually just a tool, a receiver of consciousness but not its source, and that the human mind is no more located in the brain than the Internet is located in your laptop or modem. Then, briefly go over the mechanics behind our power to influence and create the world around us.

The research of a Canadian neurosurgeon named Wilder Penfield is noteworthy for his work with epileptic patients from the 1930s to the 1970s, which provided him unparalleled insight into the inner workings of the brain, memory, and mind as well as their interactions.
During brain surgery, once the brain was exposed, he found that by using an electrode that produced a "gentle" electrical current, he could stimulate areas of the brain and get specific, repeatable, and oftentimes fascinating results. The patients were kept conscious throughout the procedure so that the doctors could carry out a conversation throughout the operation and receive immediate feedback on the nature of the experience these electrical currents would produce.
In one case, an area he stimulated caused a man to not only hear a piano being played but also to see the man sitting in front of him playing the piano. In another case, a boy reported seeing men sitting on a chair and singing, and in yet another case, the patient heard a complete orchestra.
In all cases, the patients recalled the events not like you would commonly recall a memory, which is usually as a fleeting mental image, but rather in such explicit detail that it was like they were reliving the event in question. Some patients literally saw people in front of them and heard them just as clearly as if they were actually there. They seemed to have perfect recall of past events and, in visual cases, 3D or holographic memory.
As Dr. Penfield phrased it, it's as if the mind was able to "project a memory or a dream upon the screen of consciousness." Moreover, he found that when he stimulated the brains of individuals and they remembered something—an image, a sound, or a feeling—those memories were always followed by the thought processes that accompanied them at the time. Therefore, it can be concluded that our brains record sensory data as a whole unit.
The other thing that is interesting is that the events that were brought back were entirely mundane, meaning that they were generally ordinary events of no significance. This suggests that our brains actually record every detail of our lives, even the mundane and ordinary, and that they are fully accessible to us if we know how to tap into them, or, in other words, how to use the full potential of our minds.
Wilder Penfield himself remarked that if the brain does indeed record all of our experiences, then it is only natural that when we tap into this vast archive of information and memory, we will come across ordinary events, given the vast amount of information recorded in our lifetime.
He also noted that the mind appears to retain memory even while the brain is dormant, such as the fact that when patients are under deep anesthesia during surgery, about one percent of the population has a recollection of what the doctors were saying and even some details of the procedure.
"Under deep anesthesia, there are practically no higher brain waves at all, making it impossible for the cerebral cortex to accomplish anything so complex as remembering what a surgeon is saying."
This is one of the reasons why Wilder Penfield concluded after nearly 40 years of research that the mind was an entity separate from the brain and did not rely on the brain to function. Evidence of this can be seen in patients who have had brain tissue removed, or even entire hemispheres.
In a study conducted by Johns Hopkins University (J.H.U.), they found that they could improve the level of intelligence and physical coordination of brain-damaged children by removing the damaged hemisphere of their brain. In essence, they literally cut out the damaged part of the children's brain.
Based on our current understanding of the brain, this operation should significantly damage, if not irreparably hinder, the child's ability to form and retain memories as well as their overall cognitive functions. According to conventional understanding, all of the functions provided by that hemisphere of the brain would no longer be implemented, leaving the child mentally deficient or fragmented in some way.
If we assume that memories are stored in the brain, then after this operation, those children should have lost the memories pertaining to the removed portion of their brain. Yet the results were astonishing and once again defied conventional thought.
Dr. Eileen P. G. Vining of J.H.U. studied 54 of the children who underwent the operation and was astounded by the "retention of memory and preservation of the children's personality and sense of humour." A new version of the study was published in 2003 by Johns Hopkins University that dealt with 111 kids who had the operation between 1975 and 2003. Out of these 111 children, 86% were seizure-free or no longer needed medication.
For more evidence, we can look to the work of Dr. John Lorber, who is one of the world’s top experts on the condition known as hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus is due to a problem with the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, which surrounds and cushions the brain, and when there is a blockage in this flow, the pressure within the individual’s cranium is increased. Hydrocephalus literally means "water on the brain," and brain swelling in this case leads to an oftentimes dramatic compression of brain tissue.
Dr. Lorber studied a total of 253 people with this condition. In the most severe cases, the pressure in the brain would increase to such a high level that the brain tissue would be compacted, leaving the patient with only a fraction of their original amount of brain tissue. In Dr. Lorber's study, 9 people reached a severity level where they only had about 5% of their total brain tissue remaining. This means that only 5% of their neurons, brain cells, synapses, and so on were available in the patient's brain. Amazingly, 4 out of 9 of those people with less than 5% of their brain tissue had an IQ over 100, and 2 out of 9 had an IQ greater than 126 (above the average). In other words, 66.6% of them were fine and functioning members of society.
Given the drastic loss of brain tissue, the obvious question is: how is this possible? How can people with almost literally no brains be intelligent at all, let alone above average? If children can have half their brains removed and retain their memories and personalities, and if people with less than 5% of their brain tissue can function with above-average intelligence, then what is the true purpose of the brain other than as a vehicle through which consciousness is expressed and not as the source of consciousness?
There is also no tangible evidence to support claims that our memories are stored in the brain, and there has never been a memory discovered in the brain. As Satanists, we know that every moment of every one of our lifetimes is stored in our souls. We have the ability to not only recall in complete detail memories from this lifetime but from past lifetimes as well. If our brains really are only receivers of consciousness, then this would explain why past-life regression is possible, why intelligence can be improved through the use of magick, the various recorded cases of people with near 100% accurate memories, and so on. Through consistent advancement and increased soul-body connection, such abilities are not only possible but were once considered completely normal and our birthright.
I believe that different areas of the brain are responsible for accessing different parts of the soul. When the brain is damaged, the connection between the soul and the body is disrupted, and one loses access to the abilities the damaged part of the brain governs. An example that everyone can relate to is our dormant pineal glands, which cause us to lose access to a number of different abilities until full function is restored through meditation.
Many important conclusions can be drawn from all of this. We are so much more than our physical bodies. The thing we live in, which we call a body, only serves as our vehicle on the physical plane of reality. It is the quality of the soul that is expressed through it that really matters. It's not a person's body or brain that makes them unique and special; it's their soul. Anyone who has studied their natal chart understands that.
Now that we have all of the above as a foundation, we can move on to how our minds create our environment and the lives that we live.
One of the key principles of quantum physics is that our thoughts determine reality. Early in the 1900s, this was proven with an experiment called "the double slit experiment." They found that the determining factor in the behavior of energy (particles) at the quantum level is the awareness of the observer.
For example, under the same conditions, electrons would sometimes behave like particles and other times like waves (formless energy), depending entirely on what the observer expected to happen. Whatever the observer believed would happen is what the quantum field did.
That is why quantum physicists have such difficulties dealing with, explaining, and defining the quantum world. We are truly, in every sense of the word, masters of creation because we decide what manifests out of the field of all possibility and into form.
Therefore, the present state of the world is the result of the collective human consciousness co-creating reality and is a direct representation of the average vibration from which humanity operates.
This makes our reality a projection rather than a perception. Our current understanding of quantum physics suggests that when the source—consciousness—is absent, nothing can exist. We can see this from Azazel’s statement to HPS Maxine:
Everything and everyone in this universe is connected on the quantum level, much like people in a pool are "connected" by the water they are in. This is what allows instant telepathic communication, remote viewing, attracting desires to oneself, cursing, and many other spiritual abilities, all regardless of physical distance.
The human energy field (aura) is constantly interacting with and influencing the quantum field around us at all times. Every human being does this to some degree, whether they are aware of it or not. We all have souls, the strength and cleanliness of which determine how well and to what extent we can influence our environment. Scaling this up to include every human being on Earth, one realizes that there's a constant tug-of-war going on between our energy and everyone else's, all competing for the same goals and desires.
By forgoing their spiritual development, one will forever be at a disadvantage to everyone else, a victim, and at the mercy of fate. We are spiritual beings first, and one cannot separate the two worlds. As above, so below. The Joy of Satan has given everyone the tools to elevate and advance themselves for free. All one needs to do is apply them.

I wrote this article in a way that would be eye-opening and uplifting to those who needed it, rather than just presenting it as a few stand-alone concepts as I had originally intended. That said, much of the information here is quite novel and different from what I have seen on the forums, and it is only my own interpretation of it.
