Ansuz and Jera are not suited for protection.

Algiz protects. Sowilo strengthens.
Sowilo also has combative properties.
Saulo is the more powerful version of Sowilo.
Saulo's Pronunciation: SSSS-AAAA-UUUU-LLLL-OOOO
Algiz and Sowilo/Saulo work well in combination.

Its power is the 666.

Vibrate Algiz and Sowilo (or Saulo) separately, or together.
Affirm after, and always include a positive clause.

I have never used them for that, you can read the runes section in Jos and how each one can be used. Algiz is good for protection.

Use search function. There are ideas about protection. Algiz sowilo and tyr is also good option.
