In Figian mythology, Daquwaka is a shark god. He received great respect from the fishermen, who called for protection against the dangers represented by the sea and its inhabitants.

Brave, stubborn and jealous of his prerogatives, he is guarding the gates in the coral reef. Various local legends paint him in battle with other guardians, such as the piovra that imprisoned him among his tentacles at Kadavu after an extravagant tense, forcing him to yield and promise that he would watch over the island and its inhabitants.
