How do I find my Guardian? Honestly, I have no idea. I've heard that I have the same element as my Guardian, is that true? At least it would help me narrow down the list.

You can try the methods in above link from JoS main site.
Another way is to explore the list of our pre-christain Gods and Goddesses in the Demons section of JoS main site.
Sometimes it is not a fast track. Go through the list and read about our Gods/Godesses, mediate on Sigils and you will likely find a connection in time.
Sometimes our guardians come in dreams, give us obvious signs in our daily routines, or are simply a certainty in your mind.
You can try vibrating a Demon/Demoness name and analyzing how this makes you feel.
You will know for certain from the energy felt from the vibration and may possibly be telepathically contacted by your Guardian.
About having the same element, it's possible but not always the case.
Explore the Demon section often and be patient and try not to jump to conclusions.

Personally, I feel you must be dedicated to obtain a guardian or you could possibly be contacted by an enemy thoughtform posing as a God/Godess of Hell.
Never be shy to ask Satan for help when new, I did often.
