Does that mean that I'm not spiritually gifted?

incorporate the cleaning of it in your daily routine, (the same for all chakras and extensions). You align it and breath in energy (the same for the rest of your chakras)

Also take a look at sound meditation to get an idea of what to do.

The obstacle is thinking, ignore the thoughts. And then try to 'find' and 'see' and so on astral things. You also need to withdraw your attention from material things, however much work is needed to achieve this.
