Was the Spartan general Pausanias really a traitor? I think this is a big hoax.

Pausanias was the Spartan general who defeated the Persian army and gave the victory to the Greeks, besides he was the nephew of Leonidas and one of his most trusted men, then history portrays him as a traitor? I think this is a great historical fraud created after history was rewritten, then his son appears as king of Sparta, which makes no sense,a piece of history would have completely removed and replaced by lies.
