Does erotic literature have the same effects as pornography?

I am a big fan of romance books, but many of them have erotic scenes, so I thought, does erotic literature have the same effect as pornography ? I was told yes in a conversation I had with a SS, but, I have my doubts, I say this because I have seen pornography after being more spiritual, and it is not difficult to notice that it affects negatively the soul, mainly the aura and the sexual chakra, but reading erotic reading, I just didn't feel anything, I didn't see any effect.

Yes, I know it's still degenerate in some ways, but countless good books have sexual scenes, and I wonder if I should avoid them.

Less effect, basically, and basically unpronounced because you are creating the action in your head, instead of it being fried into your brain from a screen. You also cannot quickly click between a multitude of other videos, fueling the "binge".

The only thing is that what you describe would still be more of mental stimulation, and missing the physical components of sex. Beyond this, that would apply to the romance as well. So it is probably safer from an entertainment standpoint, but not great for actually replacing your sexual and romantic needs as a whole.

it depends on what kind of 'eroticism' does the author describe. In general, the effect is lesser, because the audio-visual aspect is removed, thus allowing your creative mind to emerge and work properly as it should.

The downside is when the author promotes forms of degeneracy and lunacy. That can be harmful if you continually expose your mind to it, as it would condition it to accept it as normal/natural when it's an aberration and mental illness.

So, apply common sense. For example, stay away from things like multi-racialism, zoophilia, necrophilia, haemophilia, dirt, abuse, extremism and other unhealthy as well as unrealistic things along those lines.
