I could have sworn there was a topic on fasting posted earlier on the website. What happened to it?

Haven't seen it here before, but this is the answer concerning the brainwashed catholics.

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence, with an emphasis of abstaining from meat. For members of the Latin Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59.

Another observation I made growing up around catholics is how much they drink. Alcoholism is rife amongst them. It's probably because they never emotionally grow up, going from one kind of dependence to another. This is how the jewish run catholic church functions. The jesuits say, "Give me the child and I'll have him for life".
