If someone has a different sign in their second house, then the way that would work starts to differ. To "direct" it into the second house, you would have to do it when the Sun is transiting through that house actually, so if your second house is Libra or any other likewise sign it gets a bit strange. The way the houses work is that they feed back into eachother and have their own relationship to eachother, but generally the Sun, Venus and Jupiter all mean wealth with the Sun being the general wellbeing and fortune. Venus itself already is the 2nd house (the natural ruler), if you want to have more money in the second house sense do a Venus working, but even the 11th and 1st houses are to do with money in varying ways, it's not so simple as - direct energy at 2nd house.

I would recommend to do the planetary wealth workings for when the planet is in it's right sign/s, it will also improve the affairs of whatever house that sign happens to be on when you do it as a side effect, and the wealth working will feed from that house, in a pattern, through to all the other more wealth-oriented houses. This as a shoddy write-up, is along the lines of why planetary workings help whatever you use them for in the first place, from the astrological perspective anyway.

It doesn't work that way. Every house has a cusp and this cusp is on a Sign right? The Planet that rules that Sign, rules also that house. So you should do a square of that Planet to work with the affairs ruled by that house. For example if one has Leo on the Cusp of the second house, the Sun rules the house, and the person should do a Sun square if he/she wants to get more money.
Also the Planets placed in a house, rule that house. So, again for example, if one has Mars in second house, he should do a Mars square to work with the affairs ruled by the second house.
