Irish Travellers =/= Romani Gypsies ?

It would seem there's 2 large groups who are referred to as gypsies, and I wanna know if Irish gypsies are in anyway related to the ones in Eastern Europe

It seems that there's some crossover from them and Romanis from my knowledge but I don't think personally that the 90 and upwards percent of the travellers have the same way about them. At least I hope so cos I know I've got some pikey blood in my veins lol
