Mayor being an idiot ( surprise surprise )

First post, yay I guess?

So, my mayor is now saying its an arrestable offence to be wearing medical masks in public and that it will be enforced. I'm going to avoid going out in public as much as possible ( obviously ) but in the times that I do go out I'd prefer to be wearing a damn mask. The CDC is recommending we wear masks at this point, yet my mayor is pulling this shit. I should probably clarify, I didn't buy these specifically for Covid-19. My father is immunocompromised and has to wear them for dialysis treatment, if he gets it chances are he will die due to various factors ( not just his kidneys but I'd rather not go into detail for privacy reasons, people who do dialysis is already fairly small group. Lets just say he has quite a few medical problems, 4+ major ones) so we've been wearing them when we do go out since again, if he gets it he is fucked. I don't know what the heck our mayor is thinking. :/ His doctors have advised us to wear masks and gloves when we go out in public since he is at major risk.

We aren't currently affected by a stay at home order, but what we can do is limited.

I'm honestly not sure if I should keep wearing them when I go out or not. Its not like I can stay home all the time either since my father needs help while shopping & stuff and he refuses to stock up on food or anything. He plans on using the fuckin stimulus check for Disney ( I wish I was kidding but he didn't acknowledge Covid-19 until like... last week despite him falling into like 4+ of the at risk categories. ) Advice? ;-;

( I should clarify, this not only applies to medical masks but even things you have made at home as well as stuff like 3M masks. I won't clarify the city for again, privacy reasons. Rather not have certain people breathing down my neck. )

It should get better, your city's condition I mean, if laws are imposed from the centre. These moves by local authorities are generally challenged in large numbers in the form of petitions to the Centre and then the motion is scrapped. Wait for a while for further developments. Try ordering groceries online if thats what you want to do.
If not the big grocery stores, link up with some nearby vendors ( if they are still working and the condition isnt full complete lockdown), and ask them to deliver it to your house.

I think he is supporting the "virus is not so scary or jewsus we trust" kind of thing. There can be multiple reasons of not allowing such.
