Piean gland hallucinations and results from workings?

How do you differentiate?
I'm having hallucinations and hearing astrally as I fall asleep, seeing vivid images etc... all from pineal gland meditations.
I'm pretty sure these are random hallucinations that come with opening up, but I've been doing a working and I sometimes get answers to guidance on how to get there in my dreams.
How do I differentiate without trial and error?
