I suppose you've read Vavim ((sermons)) his meditations are useless, stay away from them. You'll find informations on why in a topic about old HPs, just search on the forum.

To replay on your question, the pillar are the 4 side of the body where each side is for one of the elements. Go to the Jos and read in the page about power meditations the page about the chakras and you'll find more informations there. The Raum meditation does empower them. But in general by balancing the elements (wich is advanced, don't do It now if you are new) should work just fine.
