Now, I think I know very well in which context he thanked Satan. Dick Cheney is generally regarded as evil, among the leftists, so when Christian Bale says that only Satan could give him inspiration for this role, this mean that he regards Satan as evil.


There is also other possibility, that he thanked Satan for some other reason, hopefully positive one, but I doubt.
