If you notice any unpleasant side effects, reduce the borax dose or stop taking it until the problem subsides. Then slowly increase the dose again. A strongly increased fluid intake with organic
acids such as lemon juice, ascorbic acid and vinegar. Improving the lymphatic flow by trampoline jumping, walking or head-over-heels positions such as standing on your head, hanging and the like is also beneficial.

Toxic or not?
The health authorities are concerned about the possible toxicity of boron. If they read the following about sodium chloride (table salt), you are probably also worried.19

"Acute oral toxicity (LD50 - the dose at which
half of the laboratory animals die): 3,000 mg/kg (rat). Chronic effect in humans: Mutagenic to mammalian body cells. Slightly dangerous by skin contact, ingestion or inhalation. Lowest published lethal dose (oral) in humans: 1000 mg / kg. By placental route damaging to the fertility in humans (fetotoxicity, abortion), risk of pregnancy toxicosis in susceptible women. Can cause fertility problems and birth defects in animals, especially rats and mice (fetotoxicity, abortion, musculoskeletal anomalies); in the mother, damage to the ovaries and fallopian tubes. Mutagenicity is possible. Consumption of large quantities can lead to stomach upset with nausea and vomiting. May cause behavioural disorders (muscle spasticity / twitching, somnolence). Impairment of sensory organs, metabolism and cardiovascular system. Continued ingestion may lead to dehydration, organ overload and coma."

Compare this with the safety data sheet 20 for borax:
"Low acute oral toxicity; LD50 in rats 4,500-6,000 mg/kg body weight. Reproductive toxicity / fruit damage: Animal studies in rat, mouse and dog show effects on fertility and testicles at high doses. Studies with boric acid in rat, mouse, and rabbit show effects on fetal development, including weight loss and minor skeletal changes, at high doses. The doses administered were several times higher than those to which humans are normally exposed. No evidence of carcinogenicity in mice. In a series of short-term mutagenicity studies, no mutagenic effect was found. Epidemiological studies have not shown an increase in lung diseases in people who are chronically exposed to borax dust
...and no effect on fertility."

Table salt is therefore 50 to 100 percent more toxic than borax and changes the genetic material; borax is harmless in this respect. Children are affected by the consumption of high
Borax levels most at risk. It is estimated that five to ten grams can cause severe vomiting and diarrhoea, shock or even death. However, the actual lethal dose is poorly documented in the literature. The following data on poisoning are from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Health Protection Agency
CDC (Centers for Disease Control).21,22

A report of 784 cases of poisoning by accidental ingestion of ten to 88 grams of boric acid does not list any deaths. 88 percent of the cases were asymptomatic, so no effect was noticed. However, in some children and adults who ingested more than 84 milligrams of boron per kilogram (equivalent to more than 40 grams of borax at 60 kilograms body weight), effects on the gastrointestinal tract, cardiovascular system, liver, kidneys and central nervous system were observed. This resulted in
Skin diseases like dermatitis and erythema. Deaths have also been reported. Reproductive toxicity was shown in animal experiments to be the most sensitive side effect of taking boron. In rats, mice and dogs, doses exceeding 26 milligrams of boron per kilogram caused damage to testicles and spermatozoa after several weeks (equivalent to 15 grams of borax per day at 60 kilograms body weight). The main risk is for foetal development, with rats being the most affected. In one study, a daily dose of 13.7 milligrams of borax per kilogram to a slight reduction in the body weight of the foetus. The safe (ineffective) dose was determined to be less than 13.7 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day, which corresponds to approximately seven grams of borax per day for 60 kilograms body weight. If we add a safety factor, we get a daily dose of 9.6 milligrams of boron per kilogram as an ineffective dose, i.e. five grams of borax for a body weight of 60 kilograms.

However, a study with rats over three generations showed no reproductive toxicity (neither in the parent animals nor in the offspring) at a daily dose of 30 milligrams of boron per kilogram. At 60 kilograms body weight, the dose corresponds to 17 grams of borax per day, taken over three generations! In a further study over three generations, 17.5 milligrams of boron per kilogram per day did not cause any problems (corresponds to nine grams of borax at 60 kilogram weight). However, the next higher tested dose of 58.5 milligrams per kilogram (30 grams of borax at 60 kilograms) led to infertility. We can therefore assume that the dose that is toxic for reproduction can be up to about 20 grams per day for a body weight of 60 kilograms. Human studies have not shown any evidence of possible impairment of fertility by borax. The study included people employed in the mining and processing of boron and a part of the Turkish population exposed to high boron levels in drinking water and soil. is. One study even reports increased fertility (compared to the US average) among workers in borax production. These are important findings. The possible damage to the fertility and the foetus in the womb (summarised as reproductive toxicity) is in fact the official
Reason for the current push against Borax.

The safety data sheet for sodium chloride quoted above also states
"Sodium chloride is used in some reproductive studies to demonstrate that no effect occurs (negative control agent). However, it was also shown by way of example that almost any chemical in animal experiments can cause fruit damage if the conditions of the study are designed accordingly".
Keep this in mind when you read the following.

The attack on Borax
Approximately 30 percent of the population of western countries suffers from arthritis and osteoarthritis in its various forms, as well as the related osteoporosis, which is responsible for more long-term hospital stays than any other disease.

Hip fractures in particular take a long time to heal. For the medical and pharmaceutical industry, this represents a significant source of income. If the healing approach with boron and magnesium became known to a broad public, this source could dry up and the system would collapse. Because it is the world's largest and the most profitable industry in the world, this must not happen.

When Dr. Newnham discovered his osteoarthritis treatment, this was not a big problem for the drug manufacturers at first. News spread were slow and easily suppressed. Today, the situation has changed fundamentally due to the Internet. The pharmaceutical industry finances a large part of research. So far, there have been no efforts from this side to reproduce Dr. Newnham's results or other positive studies. Instead, funds are being spent on the development of patentable boron drugs
with limited applications, e.g. in chemotherapy - or in research to discredit boron For example, a test-tube experiment
that a relatively low borax dose of four grams can damage lymphocytes. An earlier study showed that vitamin C supplements are toxic for the lymphocytes. are. Most positive borax studies today come from China, Japan and Turkey.
PubMed is a publicly funded database of biomedical research publications. Other articles from Newnham, R. E and Zhou, L. Y. are published there are still listed, but the two important studies mentioned above (on the arthrosis study at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the borax treatment of Human studies did not reveal any indications of possible adverse effects
fertility through borax. But they belong in the database and were apparently originally listed here. I suspect that they were deliberately removed so that they cannot be cited in other works. In addition, more and more energy is being invested to publicly demonize Borax for its alleged reproductive toxicity.

For example I read
recently published an article by a "senior scientist" of the "green" Environmental Working Group, a US environmental organisation. In it, the alleged dangers of borax were exaggerated to such an extent that most of the reader's comments at the end were something like: "Thank you for opening my eyes. I didn't know how toxic and dangerous borax was, and I will certainly not use it again when washing or when I clean my kitchen and toilet."

This is obviously a targeted campaign to make the ban on borax appear to the public as a charitable act. Borax has now been replaced by a substitute in cleaning and washing products. The EU has started the campaign: In June 2010, borax and boric acid were classified as "reproduction toxic category 2". This means that they are considered to be teratogenic and toxic for reproduction in high doses. On the packaging, the poison warning symbol
(skull with crossed bones) be imprinted.

Since December 2010, the substances are no longer available on the market in the EU. The classification is now valid for the whole of Europe - non-EU countries, however, still have some leeway in selling. The initiative is part of the GHS (Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals), which is to be implemented outside Europe as soon as possible. Australia is already well advanced in the implementation of the GHS for industrial chemicals; new regulations are expected before the end of 2012.23 The European Chemicals Agency ECHA gave the following reason for the reclassification of boron products (paraphrased): "The available data do not show any significant
Differences between laboratory animals and humans.

It is therefore reasonable to assume that the effects observed in animals could also occur in humans. Epidemiological studies in humans are not sufficient to identify harmful to exclude effects of inorganic borates on fertility. 17.5 milligrams of boron per kilogram per day was measured as NOAEL (No Observed Adverse Effect Level) for the fertility of male and female animals. In rats, a reduced foetal weight occurred at 13.5 milligrams of boron per kilogram per day. A safe upper limit of 9.6 milligrams per kilogram per day was established. "24

What they really mean by that:
"For humans we have no data. Animal experiments suggest that the consumption of about two teaspoons of borax a day can reduce the reproductive capacity of the animals. is not endangered in humans. But to be absolutely certain that no one will be harmed, we are banning it completely." It is important to note that the decision does not refer to borax in foods or food supplements, where it is already prohibited. It only concerns... the general use e.g. in cleaning and washing agents or as insecticide. Because borax is not easily inhaled or absorbed through skin contact, it is difficult to imagine how even a few milligrams per day should enter the body during normal use. If the same standard were applied to all chemicals, none would be left.

The basic study for the classification was published in 1972. Why is it being dug up now to justify the ban on borax?
No one has been interested in it for the last 40 years. Scientifically, this makes no sense, especially since the borax substitute consists mainly of sodium percarbonate, which is three times more toxic than borax (acute oral LD50 values for animals range from 1,034 to 2,200 milligrams per kilogram per day).25 Even the commonly used sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is almost twice as toxic as borax (LD50 at 3,360 milligrams per kilogram).26 In the high doses,
which cause fertility problems in rats and mice, both chemicals have not yet been tested for their long-term reproductive toxicity. The same applies to washing powders, where it is stated that toxicity is not to be expected when used properly
or that no tests for reproductive toxicity have been carried out.

Some ingredients of these products are more toxic than borax. Why can they be used but not borax? And what about really dangerous substances like caustic soda and hydrochloric acid? Why do they remain on the market, and one of the safest household chemicals is banned, even though it is absolutely impossible to do any harm to human reproductive capacity when used properly? Despite the lack of scientific evidence, everything is now in place to remove borax and boric acid from the global market in the short term. Even the low-dose and less effective boron tablets are strictly monitored by the pharmaceutical industry. Their sale can be restricted at any time by regulations in the Codex Alimentarius.

In this way, the pharmaceutical industry has brought all the dangers posed by borax under control and secured its profits and survival.

I've heard of its uses and benefits.

I myself do not ingest it. I do add it into warm bath water along with real salt or Epsom salt, baking soda, and apple cider vinegar. It is beneficial for many ailments and helps to detox and rid of too much Co2.

For vitamin D I did found 7.000 IE ( Vitamin D3 * 0.025 = 175 mcg Vitamin D3) combined with Vitamin K2 2.500 (Menachinon , didn´f find a conversion factor for mcg) IE every day, magnesium 300 to 600 mg every day, manganese 2.3g for men 1.9g for women every day.

Its not so much about how much of each. Its as simple as this: if you are taking extra boron, for example, make sure you double, or up the ante on those supplements.

Just make sure you take more of those supplements so they are not depleted from your body because of extra prolonged boron usage.

Like if I were taking a good amount of selenium, I'd make sure I eat or take in extra vitamin E supplying foods.
