The most obvious fact about Lord Enlil comes from the Sumerians themselves. Note that the Sumerians worshiped both Lord Enki and Enlil and they didn't treat them as enemies. There weren't for example priests of Enlil who attacked and killed priest of Enki. This would happen if they were opposing gods. Instead there were people who worshiped both of them and treated them in the same respect.
