In oppose to Christianity, in Satanism you can only go forward, meaning you can be stuck in the way, but no turning back. Only going forward and advancing yourself.

It's not a "pact", it's a ritual. Big difference. A pact is some sort of business agreement, while the ritual is something spiritual and deep.
