I'd like to know some of your opinions on a couple of things. First, I am a devout Satanist for the past 3 years now but as I keep reading and researching, I keep coming across ideas and information that rattles parts of me I never knew I had. I have never been a "spiritual" person. What I can "see and touch" is what is real. However, deep down I always admitted to myself that this thing called life cannot possibly be just an accident, all the while rejecting typical white light religions. Recently, with my discovery of JoS, I feel an overwhelming need to explore further and I don't know why exactly. This need for further exploration brings with it some fears I must admit. First of all, it would thrust me into a world I've never known, a spiritual world. Secondly, i am a 38 year old father of 4 and a husband of a wife who, while not religious so to speak, has been taken by surprise by my Satanic beliefs but has been as supportive as she can be. My concerns are multi-fold. How would my delving into rituals and attempting to see and feel what so many of you claim to have seen and felt affect the lives of my children and wife? Can any of this bring harm onto them? Maybe harm is the wrong word, can this somehow scare them? Not my actual activities, but the possible effects thereof. In other words, if I actually make contact with a demon or Satan himself, will his new presence in my life be felt by my family and therefore scare them? Also, any advice on how to try to encourage my wife to look into her own spirituality without seeming pushy? I KNOW that there are things she should know. This may be childish here but, everytime that woman walks under a street light it goes out. True story. I have witnessed it many times. On one occasion at night, she and my sister walked to the end of the street we used to live on and my sister (knowing about my wife's street light issues) said to my wife "man I hope nothing creepy happens". At that moment, ALL the street lights went off. Anyway, all I'm saying is that I'm treading on new territory here having labeled myself as a LaVeyan for the last couple of years and I am looking to the experienced and wise for advice and truth. Thank you.

Hi Chuck,

First of all, let me welcome you to the group and to the "Spiritual" side of Satanism. While we don't exactly prescribe to the LaVeyan point of view many of us, myself included, respect his works and writings. LaVey put down many base ideas and concepts that I believe have strong merit and are worth serious study and analysis by every Satanist.

My response here may be a bit long winded, which some here may say is something I am guilty of on more than one occasion. I will try to keep it as short as I can however, but you do bring up several good questions that warrant good explanations, as good as I can provide anyhow.

I will begin by saying, yes, there are dangers associated with this path, and yes they can make themselves known to you AND those around you during your journey. This is USUALLY confined to those who actually engage in the rituals or workings with you, but there are exceptions to every rule and it just depends on the situation. If you become extremely active in the fight against christianity and the enemies of Satan, then it would not be uncommon for you to come under attack by their underling angels/greys/thoughtforms. As you progress you will learn how to cope with these dangers and Satan or Demons themselves will often times step in to protect the devout and dedicated Satanist. Demons not associated or aligned with Satan can also pose a threat and some can be VERY powerful, and NOT to be trifled with. The key is to try and know as much about who or what you are communicating with, and to ALWAYS go through Satan. Before you start a working, as for His protection and when communicating always ask if the entity is loyal to Satan. If they answer no, it is probably not something you want to be dealing with, although some can be somewhat civil. I say civil because I in no way want to say friendly, which they usually are not. Often times when confronted with these beings, loyal Satanists will insult and berate the entity, thinking because it is not with Satan, it isn't powerful. This is a very quick way to get nightmares and a whole slew of bad bad stuff. And if you piss it off enough, yeah, it might go after those around you as well. Having respect and not acting foolishly will almost assuredly keep you from experiencing any of these dangers however.

Location and common sense are the biggest factors here, and if you use your head, will you avoid almost any danger you will encounter, and you will keep you and your family safe. If you bless your area in the name of Satan, go through Satan in your workings, and always try to work with entities working with or for Satan, there should be no problems at all. If you go out to the deepest, darkest cemetery you can find at midnight and start probing about the astral, you are probably going to find some nasty stuff and won't be very friendly. Once again, pretty common sense.

Besides this, the effect on your wife and family from your rituals or "delvings" would be: none. Christianity has made it a huge priority to keep people scared and worried about this type of thing, and your concerns are pretty common, but in truth you can know what we know in less time than you think at absolutely no risk to anyone. The next time you can be alone for a few hours, lay down in bed and ask Satan to let you feel his presence, his energy, and his embrace. The effects may be immediate, they not may, and they may last for a short time or for a long time, it varies from person to person. But you MUST ask with a genuine, honest, and open heart. If you are asking just to get some kind of "proof" or just as something to "do", it may not work. This is a genuine request to your creator to come and give you a little "us" time, take it fucking seriously and you will get results. This will be completely personal and will have no effect on your family or anyone else but YOU. Satanism is very personal and no one can tell you what your relationship with Satan is, better than you.

And with your concerns about entering a spiritual world that is completely foreign to you and not knowing what to expect, just take heart in knowing that this is pretty much what it was like for ALL of us. Christianity did a great job of systematically removing this knowledge from history and keeping us away from our true Gods. Almost all of us have been subjected to massive amounts of programming which must be broken and removed for us to begin to advance. If you came into things totally prepared and with no questions, concerns, or fears, I would have to call it completely unfair and label you a cheater. This way is much better! :D

All kidding aside, the way you feel drawn to research more and more and keep looking into things, even though it normally wouldn't interest you, is not too uncommon of a thing. Many people come here agnostic, atheist, or holding other beliefs that are completely foreign to Satanism, and end up devouring page after page. I believe this is what naturally happens when one of Satan's own finds him and starts their true spiritual path.

Your wife however is a bit more a tricky situation and it can be hard discussing our beliefs with the ones we love. If you do decide to talk to your wife about things, try to keep a few things in mind:

- Explain the small stuff! The things we take for granted are usually the first things people need corrected on, like Satan and Satanism not being all about evil. Tell her that you aren't becoming some villain, and you aren't doing anything bad or harmful, simply exploring a new spiritual outlet and seeing where it takes you.

- In the beginning, focus on the meditation side of things. Meditation is becoming more and more mainstream, and people are starting to look at it in a positive light. Show her that this isn't some dark and dangerous, spooky thing to be feared. Show her it is an exciting and interesting activity that is teaching you how to better yourself and fulfill your full potential. That it is meant to help empower you and make you the best that you possibly can be.

- If she is receptive to the meditation side of things, see if she is willing to start practicing void meditation with you and see how she feels when she gets a little more in tune with her own spirit. Once she is actively interested in things, you can start discussing with her the difference in values and objectives in Satanism. Where instead of striving to live life by a bunch of rules to save your soul from some torturous after-life, we strive to accept ourselves to the fullest. Embrace what we are on the inside, and do whatever it is that makes that the best that it can be. Show her that we don't get hung up on what sexual preference you are, or whether you have premarital sex or any of the other 400 things that can get your soul a one way ticket to the eternal pit of fire according to the bible thumpers. Show her that our main goal is to produce the healthiest, happiest, and more powerful human being that you can possibly be, and in the process transform yourself into something better than Human.

And if she is receptive to all of that, then she may be ready and willing to talk more candidly about Satanism and about her own spiritual path.

Anyway, I hope that some of this helps and answers your questions, and if you have any more questions or concerns, feel free to ask and I'm sure either myself or someone else on here will be more than willing to answer. Once again, Welcome to the group Chuck.

Answering your question of if Satanism, and having the presence of the Gods around your family, can be detramental in anyway. I'm not going to lie, yes it can have effects of different degrees.
To put it simply, the enemy, Father Satan's enemies, dosn't want us to have the powers that we rightfully should. So they will try to stop us. However, we are Satan's children, and therefore protected by Him. Satan teaches us how to protect ourselves and our loved ones from the attacks and infulence of His enemies.
There will come a point where if the enemies can't get their hands directly on you, they will start to try ruin your life by other means, one of these being your loved ones.
If you protect yourself and your loved ones, they will be fine.

Due to xtian indoctrination and subconciouse programing, when the presence of the Gods is felt by those that are devout xtians or of the enemy, they may feel some discomfort. This is from centuries of being told to fear these beings. It is the same as if we are in the precense of an angel or grey, the feeling of fear out of nowhere, that something is nearby, but less noticable. If they know that the Gods aren't scary or harmful at all, this feeling will be shot down.

There are things that can effect your family, but nothing that you can't handle yourself with the assistance of Satan and the Gods.

With your wife. She is her own person, and if she doesn't want to explore her own spirituality, that is her choice. I would recomend just sitting down and talking to her about it. Telling her all your good experiances with Satan as they come along and make sure that this is the right thing for you and that it is doing you no harm and acctualy alot of good. She loves you and so will support you with your life choices. When she knows that Satanism is a great thing, you could ask her about her thoughts on it, how she feels about spirituality and everything. Just get her thinking about it really. If she takes to it, great. If she wants to leave things as they are, thats fine too.

Goodluck friend.

Hail Satan and Praise the True Gods!

I'm REALLY confused here, how do you claim to be a Satanist for 3 years while you have done none of those things you ask?Or do you mean you were just a Laveyan Atheist?

Ok to answer your questions here:

"How would my delving into rituals and attempting to see and feel what so many of you claim to have seen and felt affect the lives of my children and wife?"

In no way. Satanism is a personal thing.

"Can any of this bring harm onto them? Maybe harm is the wrong word, can this somehow scare them? Not my actual activities, but the possible effects thereof."

Well if you get spiritually powerful some weird things can happen that defy normal explanation. You still can program your aura to not let those things happen.

"In other words, if I actually make contact with a demon or Satan himself, will his new presence in my life be felt by my family and therefore scare them?"

No, closed people can't feel Their presence. And like I said what you do with the Gods is a personal thing. It is far from scary, it is a beautiful sensation.

"Also, any advice on how to try to encourage my wife to look into her own spirituality without seeming pushy?"

You just do things like meditation and other stuff openly, and if your wife is interested she'll ask about them.

Thank you everyone so very much for your responses and valuable advice.  The truth is that no matter what, I'm a Satanist and knowing how strong willed and determined I am in all aspects of my life, scary or not, I'm going further with this.  It's a new and strange feeling, being drawn to spirituality, and it all feels very natural.  It has taken 38 years of life to be at this juncture.  Why now?  Or why 3 years ago even looking into Satanism? Why?  I never needed anything but myself and my strength.  I never went to church, never prayed, never had a religion, period.  I rejected religion because it all seemed so "Peter Pan-like".  Some guy in the sky snapping his fingers, creating the world, humans, animals, all in 7 days.  Great fiction!  Therefore, anything other than tangible, provable stuff was just hogwash.  But now, recently, I can't explain why I'm so very drawn to all this.  It is the opposite of who I thought I was meaning, I'm attracted to spirituality whereas my whole life previously, I kind of just looked at people who prayed and went to church like they're crazy.  I don't know why, yet.  But I guess I will find out soon enough.  Thank you everyone again for your advice and wisdom.

The Gods protect us and our loved ones. I won't lie, the enemy does try to fuck with us. Those close to you, who are Christian, the enemy might try to take advantage of that and fill them with thoughts, delusions of fear about you. It's minuscule, really. If something is pesturing a loved one of mine, I can put a protection spell around them. I can state protective affirmations to let only those of Satan influence them. If something is too much for me to handle, I can ask the Gods for help. They have had my back so many times. They are very good to us, as long as we are good for them.

My guardian told me I won't die like others...He has told me about the future that beholds me, and it is fucking beautiful. I would not have it if I were not a Satanist. I have seen Maxine write things like "Satanism is like walking through a door that permanently shuts, you can never go back!" Quite right she is, i see that now more than ever. Satan is not holding me here, regardless, I could never go back... Once you have been exposed to the truth, you would rather die then live a lie again! "Those who are without" are what non-Satanists are referred to. Those who are without remind me of sheep being herded off the edge of a cliff. They blindly go alike with what their sadistic master orders without stopping to try and see ahead. As a Satanist, I stand as a wolf amongst sheep. The truth is out there my friend, only the brave will seek it though. I am a young adult, my perception of reality has been shattered many times and for the better. I know I have a long way to go, but I thankful that I have had the strength and courage to get this far at a young age.

I sincerely know, that if I did not become a Satanist, my life would have been a waste, meaningless... Would take too long to write why that is so in detail.

As for your wife, you can't force anyone to do anything. She may accept it, she may not. As for your kids, if you got them to meditate at a young age, I promise you that they would have advantage for the rest of their life. Brother, I can promise you that if you walked down this path, you would have no regrets. It is hard at times, but the most rewarding thing ever. You must decide for yourself what you shall do, it is your life after all. As a Satanist who experiences "weird" happenings on a daily basis, I can easily say there is nothing more worth your time.

HAIL SATAN, FUCK GOD

Greetings Chuck! I understand you are new to the JOS and your self discovery is on the way.

Anytime one delves into the "powers" through whatever means they choose, there will be changes.
I began in Wicca 12 years ago. I'm a natural witch. I'm a channeler. But I always knew Satan was the true way to go for me. After
I "came home" to Satan here I knew this is real. I used to meditate in 1987 and even back then I SAW Satans sigil but didn't know what it was until 2006.

To answer your question, once you dedicate yourself to Satan you are under HIS protection. Magick works UNBELIEVABLY well once you do.
Your family is Yours so ask that the gods of Hell protect you and your own once dedicated, and They WILL. Do not have fear. There is no room for fear in satanism or witchcraft.

My girlfriend and fiance has asked me the same kind of questions. I have assured her not to fear. She has native American blood and ritual comes natural to her. She has been communing with Satan and she wants to dedicate.

My 16 year old has also dedicated a few months ago. Occassionally he is attacked psychicly by enemy greys and enemy daemons, but he has learned to fight back. I myself have as well, but I've been doing this so long they are pathetic to try and harm or frighten me.

Good luck to you and email if you wish.

Ave!

A lot of who are attracted to Satanism and do become Satanists were Satanists in past lives. That attraction you are feeling is for a reason.
If you really considering this, which looks like you are. Take a candle (any color), light it, meditate for a few moments and Satan to show you a sign. Respectfully ask him if Satanism is right for you, trust me, you will get results. I got this advice from the J.O.S site, I never did it. I didn't need to, I had something happen to me to convince me of my religion. Others I tell this to do, get their minds blown away. In a positive way though, nothing negative. Gewdie luck.

Hello ilms!

I pondered in your answer, and I have to agree with you about been a Satanists in a past life. I was attracted to this path early in my childhood, a sensation of fulness embraced me early on in my life, even to a point that i felt a sexual ectasy, beyond my comprehension. I wish I could know more about that past live. But well said my dear friend.

Yes asking Satan is one of the things I wanted to suggest but forgot.

Way back when in 1998 before I dedicated myself to witchcraft a I began my studies. But before that I meditated (as I had learned this in my teens) and asked out loud if witchcraft was something in my life meant to be.
And of course I was answered yes in the most delightful way! I saw colors, chrystal light, swirling energy, and an unbelievable sense of happiness.

Thank you.

Hello,

the words that you have written have hit home (having never done the ritual with the candle). I just lit a candle, meditated for a few minutes, then spoke quietly to Lord Lucifer. I told Him my thoughts, my regrets, and the things that I have noticed in this life. (The candle flame was very active when I was just starting to meditate, then quieted when my mind quieted, and seem to be listening when I spoke.) However, to my surprise, after I asked if Satanism is for me, the candle started to flicker in all directions a great deal.
Now, as I write this, I feel more pulled together, more calm and peaceable.
I believe the answer is a big, resounding YES!

Hail Lucifer!
Hail Satan!

Thank you.
