The Magnum Opus And Skanda

In Hinduism the God Skanda is the God that rules the highest level of Yoga. Kundalini Yoga and must be approached by one who wishes to succeed in this. Hindu Alchemy is the same as western Alchemy.

The ancient story of the birth of Skanda is revealing as to many things about the esoteric meaning of the God. Its also the story of the birth of Dionysus who is the same God further west.

Shiva and Parvati are wed in what is the symbol of the alchemical wedding and in the wedding bed another symbol of this they sexual unite for 1000 years. Note the number 1. This is symbolic of the union of the male and female chakra's within the bed, the body. This creates the union of them into 1 force. Agni then arrives in the image of a dove and takes the semen of Shiva which is fire and deposits it in the Ganga river. Semen or seed is the symbol of the seed of the metals the chakra's that which transmutes the metals the mercury force of which in Hindu Alchemy Shiva represents. Agni is the God of fire and the dove is the symbol of the purification of the chakra's to the White stage. The river Ganga in Hinduism is the symbol of the flow of the serpent energy thought the spine and seven chakra's. It also represents the final transmutation of the soul.

Here Shiva's semen which is shown as red hot gold goes into the waters and turns into a child who is nestled in the reeds, the reeds are the symbol of the spine and the Pleiades which represent the chakra's then find the child and nurse him from their breasts of which the child takes six faces or heads to nurse from. In seven days the child grows to full form. The milk is the symbol of the purified energy of the chakra's developing the new soul and the six heads is symbolic of the fully transformed six chakra's and how they connect into the brain. Shiva then claims the child Skanda as His own in His own perfect image. Shiva here relates to the Solar principal the gold. So the Magnum Opus is finished.

Skanda is the Philosophical child the symbol of the new soul created by the magnum opus. That is why He has no wife. Because He is already united within himself. Its symbolic. His yantra is the six pointed star as it represents the unified soul. Dionysus yantra in the west is the same star. Its still engraved in the Temple to Him at Baalbek. This is why Skanda is called the avatar or second Shiva.
