Chapter 1 – The Wolf (1st draft)

Constantine (pron. constantaine) sat. He opened his Zippo lighter which was gold like the sun. He flicked the flint wheel and lit a cigarette. There was an antique table infront of him which was brown in color. Ontop of the table there sat an old recorder. An open reel-tape recorder. He took a drag off his cigarette and pressed record...

- It all started when I was a kid. I remember the house fondly. But for as long as I can remember, whenever I tried to fully converse to myself that it was my home, something pulled me back. It went on for centuries. -

Something about her.. I remember once time.. Might as well start from the beginning.

Constantine sat. He opened his Zippo lighter which was silver in color. He flicked the flint wheel and lit a cigarette. There was an antique table infront of him which was brown in color. Ontop of the table there sat an old reel-tape recorder. He took a drag off his cigarette and pressed record...

He walked through the doors. Lights flashing before him. Seeing the long maple bar polished to the very finest of grits. Shining, no! - glowing in the light that was eminating down from above.

The pub was packed. I saw chairs and tables, round as they could be which were like of olden times. I took a step closer and then another. The bar and man oozed closer like the slime now dried on my coat. I kept walking for It was the only thing I knew what to do.

''What will you have?'' The Bartender said. His blonde hair flowing down his shoulders.

''Give me a fag,'' - I said – ''No... make it two.''

''So, you killed another one?'' A voice said from the side.

Immediately my mind went back... I saw flashes of the god forsaken of a wolf, teeth alll ripping from it's gums, eyes like-- Fur like--

''No, I haven't.'' - I said. Watching closely the cigarette smoke rising from the burning coals. It tells me things, the smoke does. There are more than one of me and yet I come back to myself every time. -

''You okay?'' Zed asked.

''I'm just alright, luv. Don't worry about me.''

''So word is, you killed another one.''

''Is that what they say about me?''

''What's your name?'' He asked the girl beside Zed with a cold suspcicion.

''They call me Lady Tulip.'' The small girl quiped back.with a singsong voice

''Very funny.'' Zed replied.

''So.. Charlotte. What brings you to this part of town?''

''Oh, this and that.''

''How do you know her name.?'' Zed asked quickly.

''I saw it in the stars.'' Constantine replied.

He put out his cigarette and lit another one.

- I should probably explain. Two years back There was this demon. In exchange for power he made a conrtact with me. I get seperated into two different timelines and he gets... Well, I'm getting ahead of myself, now. -

Charlotte laughed.

She was a girl of small stature. Somewhere between 20 and 30 years of age. She had strawberry blonde hair and a ribbon in it. - Point being.. When you've lived as long as I have. What's the point? it all gets blurred together anyway. Might as well have fun. -

He took another drag off his cigarette and asked for a glass of whiskey on the rocks. The bartender worked swiftly as he spinned and swirled like a dancer. There was something magical about it for him. But he knew something others did not. There was magic in arts of dance. Magic that could only be seen if you look closely. Look too closely, however and it will be lost to time.

Chapter II – The Magicians Road Ahead Of Time (1st draft)

- It's tricky playing the fool. they are playing chess... but I invented the board. - He walked closer to the house. Birds were chirping away. The house was special. It house had a brown brick facade and the driveway was paved with red bricks. There was a car parked by the side of the house. It was an old BMW. 2017 model.

''Hey!''

''Too soon, mate... The blonde Constantine said.

''Another long night at the bar?'' Asked the black haired Constantine

Chas was leaning on the open backseat window of his signature cab. Those birds never seemed to leave him alone. Constantine and Constantine (pron. constantaine) smirked as they stepped out of the car, anxious of the of the night they knew was ahead. When was the last time he had a break? A day? A week? A month? - A century ago? it comes to mind. -

'''Evening officers.'' - Chas said standing there like a statue made of pure detectivness.

''What the hell do you want, kid?'' The older officer asked with anger. The other looked at with with skepticism in his eyes.

He flashed a card of identification.

''Alright, you can pass.'' Said both of the officers. They lifted the yellow tape and both men swiftly went under it, crossing to the other side.

''You're getting better at that.'' Constantine said ''But remember: only once and only every 37 hours per person.'' Constantine
