Something I don't understand about Venus retrograde and money...

So I know Venus rules money but I also know that the Sun rules wealth/a lot of money/riches. Is doing a money spell during Venus retrograde really that bad considering what the Sun rules? What do you think? Any experiences with this? Thank you in advance.
