The base chakra is very powerful and shouldn't be ignored. This is the "hell" written in the buy-bull. The reason it's been labeled "hell" is because it is red, fiery force and used in black magic.
The base chakra is very much sealed. Mostly the back extension and the front one. Back one because of kundalini and front one because of it's powerful energy circuit. Opening the base chakras is an important step. Without it, you cannot get sexual energies flowing up the spine correctly. The enemy blocked them exactly so we cannot reach godhood (risen kundalini). The front base chakra is blocking the energy from the Sacral (2nd) chakra to flow into perineum; which is were kundalini sleeps. Opening this base chakra will allow sexual energy to flow from the sacral nurturing the kundalini. The front base chakra is connected to the Sushumna; which is the sexual part of our souls. This chakra is important because without it, you may not have a clear image of yourself; which is important in any workings.
The back extension of the base chakra is needed to open the pathway for the kundalini to ascend. If the base chakra is closed or blocked in any way, your kundalini cannot go up.
Think of it this way; front base chakra as the tail of the kundalini, perineum is the stomach of kundalini and the back base chakra is the head. This is why the kundalini is said to be coiled 3 times.
The middle base chakra is also very powerful and important. When it is opened completely, the energy from the perineum can flow freely into your middle chakras; which reveals much. And also if it's opened, the middle sacral and produce more sexual energies.
The base chakra is used in black magic, along with the Sacral and Solar Plexus. I never used it for black magic so i cannot say nothing more on this.
