I just use what I can. One doesn't have to have fancy tools. Just ones

I actually found some of my stuff at a second-hand store(like value village or goodwill) and it was fairly cheap as I didn't have much money at the time.

Should we make sure the tools don't have any residual energies on them before using them?

My only experience with this is washing the ritual tools with soap and water and wiping it dry right away, so the water doesnt remain on the tools, which I believe leads to rust. I have read of putting your ritual tools in a bowl of salt to remove the energies. I think the soil of houseplants can do the same thing with crystals, it 'energizes' them and removes the stale energy, so I have observed.
Perhaps someone with more experience could join in this thread?
