I have read a simple ritual that helps one dedicate themselves to satan.
A black candleSterile needle BloodA written prayer.
My question is, can I make a request in my pact.
For example (not doing this)
If I was seeking a position of power, I'd write out the prayer with my request, sign, then burn, is that feasible and does it work?

Don't make any requests when doing the dedication ritual. If you want something (or need something) work for it yourself. Only ask for help from Satan and Demons or Demonesses when you actually need it.

You can get closer to Satan by doing daily power meditation everyday.
We don't pray to Satan like christians pray to god; we talk to him. You can do this through a standard ritual or visualize his sigil and talk to him.
